GUWEIZ Patreon Series EP54.2 (Process Walkthrough) (Patreon)

Sorry I'm late with this one (artwork post), things must have been a LOT more chaotic in February than I remembered... Hopefully late is better than never and here it is :)A little bit of addendum for artwork 3 (the one on the train):I think the biggest challenge here was really to create a composition that balanced the character's moody presentation along with the sunlight coming into the train. Realistically a train would have its lights on, but some compromises have to be made to really get a balance... Beyond that, it was also about the subtleties in lighting and how that showed the character's forms and structure. Silhouetted characters that are entirely in shadow (respective to the main light source) always face this difficulty. There just isn't a definitive strong light source that "tells" the viewer and the artist what kind of 3D space the subject occupies exactly, so the reliance is on bounce light and ambient lights. I'd like to give this character another try sometime in the future though!
