Nothing beats the feeling of drawing in the evening (not too late because we all love a good healthy bedtime) while it's raining cats and dogs outside! It's just the perfect setting to draw a raining day as well.

It's been a while since we've seen Irena and Yin, and given the overwhelming votes that went to them, it's only right that we do a new set on them! This time rather than a linear sequence of events, I decided to draw more of a collage of cool shots that one might extract from a hypothetical movie of these two.

Saying this with utmost caution, I do feel my ability to grasp perspective is improving a little bit at a time (even now) - I had imagined the first piece requiring much more time spent in frustration than it actually took. Instead I was able to work in anatomy and overlaps of the foreshortened portions fairly smoothly, which is always a pleasant surprise!

The duo piece was also a challenge - On one hand many of us know this pose as a little bit of a meme, but on the other hand, I did want to see if I could use it to create a serious scene. It worked out better than expected too!

Lastly, Irena kneeling in the rain had to be the hardest piece to draw, especially given that we don't even see her face. How the hair flows at this very rarely seen angle/pose is something that I had to mostly figure out from scratch this time, despite kneeling references being aplenty!

I'm looking forward to sharing a lot more about the process with you guys in the upcoming process walkthrough videos as always!

Thank you so much for support here even through these busy months ♥ And of course, I'd love to hear what you think about these scenes!

Wow, as you said in the last post i immediately thought. Wait does irena have a thing for her but then i realized the seriousness on their faces lmao. Amazing work, to be honest in always amazed by your backgrounds, even if its not the main focus here haha. Also one thing i noticed, in the irena kneeling piece the three bright orange blobs of color at/near her legs almost stole my attention when i was looking at how she is shaded. Just wanted to ask if you noticed that?

Beautiful. Your knack at backgrounds ALWAYS blows me away. Irena and Yin are my favorite of your characters I think. They're so expressive and beautiful (as are all your OC's but something about them really catches my eye). I also feel like your control of light has gotten even better? The way it illuminates her white shirt is mesmerizing and so detailed. Amazing work as always. I can't wait to see your breakdown of these pieces. :) Also I think I didn't thank you forgoing over my work during your event. You always give me such good advice and I can't thank you enough because it's only helped me grow further with my craft. <3333

I missed the bad guys! Thank you so much for these amazing new pieces <3

really liked these, as always of course haha! One thing I'd love to see at some point is a little setup tour, could be only an image of the setup. I just really like seeing how people setup their workspace! If it feels too private then of course don't do it! Just a fun idea maybe. Anyways, hope you're having a good day and thank you for the awesome art, can't wait for the walk through!

Irena and Yin are back! It's been a while since we last saw them. I'm curious if Irena and Yin meet Max and Mia, I can't see them as enemies, I see them more as rivals. It would be interesting to see them fight. These are amazing! I love your art and the characters you create, I always want to know more about them.

Thank you very much!

Appreciate the kind comment! I'll keep at it!

It's always more interesting to keep things vague and plausibly deniable isn't it! I'd really like to spend more time really getting into making these backgrounds even more interesting and vibrant, but it's quite an endeavor that I've been putting off. Great point on the three orange blobs! I had intended them as highlights but I think they were just a tad under-rendered and blob-like compared to the rest of the piece. It's honestly something I didn't catch, so I appreciate the observation!

Thank you kindly! I want to keep pushing in this direction, but it gets harder to innovate and create new scenes in the same vein. But I will keep trying to make a breakthrough!

Thank you so much as always for the supportive words, they never fail to reinforce my resolve! I'm always trying to get a little better each time, so to hear that someone has observed some improvement is a huge encouragement. The process is up, somewhat unusually quickly :) I almost panicked when I read forgoing, I thought I had missed out on your submission for some reason! I'm always glad to be of help!

Thank you for the words of encouragement!!

Sure thing! It's really nothing fancy at all, so I'm more worried about disappointing you guys! But it is a great idea for a little extra post :) Thank you!

Thank you! 4 characters in a scene! That will be something to behold (and very difficult to draw)! I have to think about that too, for now it almost feels as if they would pass each other by without ever knowing the other crew exists!

Oh no! My typos strike again! lolol I'm so sorry, I should've caught that ><
