The monthly chosen characters were Eve and Raven from Stellar Blade. I got to work on this and I'm not moving the fastest but I atleast like where it's at currently. I got another WIP for that DC animation I loosely mentioned. I got to get some fixes before it is presentable.
I'm also thinking to cut off the extra detail I planned for the star wars animation I put off for quite a long time (Initial WIP post HERE). I plan to maybe provide the incomplete section as a 'incompletion" vid just to show it off but I think it will just be a loop. I've the main loop portion done for quite a while and even did the sound way back when so I should be able to pick it back up and get it out soon once I decide to do so.

*Tech Notes*
Environment
The environment is from someone else but I made changes. I thought what did I want to have story element wise? I decided maybe show a 'battle' and then show the 'aftermath'. So I got their sword models placed them somewhere and thought about how I would display scratches from sword damage. I got some slash art threw it into blender after making them transparent and threw them ontop of some of the materials but it only looked 'ok' but not too convincing.
What I ended up doing more of which I think looks alot better is to use something called a boolean modifier for the table. The boolean modifier takes the difference between the mesh and another intersecting mesh. So I made a triange and then smashed it into certain parts of the table to make sharp cuts. It's an interesting modifier because it seems to not work with vertices and instead faces or something. Once you apply it, it adds extra vertices to the mesh for you.
Pose
I think I mentioned it way back with my last full nelson animation, but this position is the most problematic out of any position I've ever done and I knew this going into it but it's fine, I've dealt with problems before 😏. The 'why' is simple. Models don't like you bending legs backwards so high as the model can squish, deform, and glitch in ways you obviously don't want.
The 2nd 'why' is that the stomach area and generally body as a whole is now touching against itself. I don't think I need to explain that in 3d world clipping happens as a default and you need to either manually fix it or find something else to fix that. I decided just like last time that shapekeying the mesh would be the easiest way to do this. So I just fixed up the body for this.
