Lighting
Like I mentioned before I wanted to focus on lighting that quite a bit after looking at NYL's project file. I think there is more to be done but I had already started on the lighting before and the adjustments didn't change much so I just did what I could. I think it's ok but nothing special.
Sound
I use Davinci Resolve for all post processing and that includes any sound modifications. Davinci is pretty nice even the free version and I've learned a few tricks so I can edit sound. For the muffled sound that I used which is supposed to emulate being behind the glass, I mostly used the 'equalizer' which can change the lower, mid and high tones. So for the muffle, you mostly make the higher tones much lower. When using the 2nd camera angle I switch the muffle a bit and adjust sounds a tad.
Materials and Environment
This is an already made asset but I did have to add the glass pane, wall, and duct that Haydee is stuck in. I'm mostly talking about the glass pane the two are in between. I didn't want to hide their bodies so I made it glass. I will say the vent looks a bit weird like there isn't much logical reason for it to be there but I couldn't really think of another way to do it and since this is a small project I just went with it.
When doing the lights I realized the light at the top (the orange line) made a reflection and I thought that I should show off a few reflections in the glass so I set them up to look a bit more appealing. I wasn't completely sure what I wanted from the composition. I intended to have the outside darker to show that it is closed or after hours but didn't like the look I got. The blue corner light lighting the inside of the lab felt appropriate though and I like that side more. I also added the janitor cleaning stuff to help show that the lab isn't being operated at the moment. Nyl's explanation of his scene compositions made me think "eh, why not try to explain the scene through logic better". I knew already that people did this but in the pursuit to be better I guess I should try everything I can.
