Slow to Fast
Been quite some time since I've made the animation faster or slower. What I've been doing recently for other animations is changing the influence (intensity) instead. Consistent speed is easiest for obvious reasons as when you go slow or fast it can look jank to just basically speed up or slow down the movements so you have to smooth certain things and adjust other things. This is probably the slowest I've made an initial loop with it taking 50 frames (roughly 2 seconds) before the next thrust happens. The speed ups are 20 frame loops into 10 frame loops then back to the 50.
Like mentioned it looks very jank to just speed it up so I had to smooth certain bones (most of them) and also ease in and out of the movement speed changes. It wasn't too bad as it currently stands so it didn't take too long to adjust. I did have to add the rest for both characters at the end of the speed increase where they both are down and then slowly rise to begin the slow thrusting again.
Pose
With the characters I figured I wanted to have Venom be the one in control as it made most sense with the characters (although I often flip that from time to time). Initially I thought at first to have them in the most common missionary pose where Venom's torso points straight up but I really wanted more focus on seeing everything in one close up angle with a focus on Venom's butt so I decided to do this. Posing Venom felt weird as I had to force her head down for the pose and I wanted to get her breasts into view as well. In the end it actually didn't look to silly even when looking at the full body.
Armature
Armature is just what the set of bones are called in blender. The stuff that lets you move the character. Last animation and this one I decided to quickly add some extra bones to my character. For venom I did this because the butt had no bones and I think it was rather important to have some for added jiggle. I also gave the anus some bones so I could move that as well.
Normally I could use shapekeys but I'm trying to move away from shapekeys. Shapekeys are indeed fantastic but it's too much a hassle to have to go from bone modifications to shapekeys and back. For example, on this animation I sped up the movements for faster thrusts. I would then have to back out of the bones and then equally speed up the shapekeys. Then imagine if I need to edit it later then I have to do that again. And like I said earlier when you speed things up it doesn't look perfect immediately so I would then have to edit it again.
Small note
If your wondering about Venom's balls (weird way to start a sentence I know) I used manual posing for bones. No physics, or cloth simulation. The reason I'm even mentioning this is to make a point of what I did do, which is changing size or using scaling (s in blender). This is something you don't always see people do but it's really important in animation which is called "squashing and stretching". It's a bit weirder to explain because you have to go off of logic and feeling (like all of animation of course). You just play around with it and see what looks good.
Generally logic wise when something zips through the air quickly it becomes skinny and when it slams something it becomes 'fat' and flatter. With Venom's balls here the bounce is a bit cartoonish as it bounces a bit more than balls normally would but I think it looks appealing. I haven't finished with them but the generally bounce will remain the same.
