Animated WIP (Patreon)

Monthly poll winners were Mei and Anran.

The WIP this time around is a bit of something new. I tried a new proccess and then showed the first section (posing), then the next (in betweens), and then the more normal refined version. More on that in the tech notes. The WIP will show all 3 side by side then only the last version.

Note: This will be the last thing I put out before my vacation I have right around end of the month. As mentioned on my last post I won't be animating for that time. When I come back I may do a quick animation but I've actually thought that I want to at some point get into the rhythm of doing intros to my animations and might challenge myself to see if I can do a few of those in a row

*Tech Notes*

I'll keep this relatively short and just talk about the main thing the WIP shows off which is a common method of animating that I've actually only just done for the first time. I'm somewhat inconsistent but I have done "Pose to Pose" which is what this mainly is but I usually don't do an outline for my entire animation. Here I decided why not and lets see how it plays out. I'll use the next paragraph to explain what it is along with my own opinions....

So you go to your main spots and pick your poses, and ideally you pick the spots that have the most expression. What I did and what people do (it's preference I suppose) is to put the keyframe curves as "constant" meaning it doesn't add movement between them. Bezier curve is what most animation in Blender is by default. Constant is kinda cool when posing because it can kind of show you if what you have makes any sense or not without leaning on the curved movement to make it look "better". Personally it's a nice experience but I'm a pretty compulsive animator so it's kind of jarring but I'm down to try it again.
