Before you react to rubber soul after help I recommend you react to the first volume of the compilation past masters which is a collection of all non album singes and b sides and the first volume goes from please please me to help the second volume goes from rubber soul to let it be. It’s kind of similar to the master plan by oasis. Anyway happy new year!

Definitely check out stereophonics their debut is amazing especially if you are liking the Britpop kind of thing, it was around at a similar time and they are an amazing band.

Stereophonics are great. Supergrass would be another one I would love to see.

At some point, you should hit the Verve's first album, A Storm in Heaven. It's very different from Urban Hymns - less song structure and more a showcase for the band's psychedelic sound, particularly Nick McCabe's guitar. A Storm in Heaven is actually a pretty fitting description of its sound.

When you listen, you'll hear two German language versions of She Loves You and I Want to Hold Your Hand. Just for some context, they spent a lot of time in Hamburg in their early days developing their sound, playing for up to 8 hours at a time (taking pills to stay wired enough to play) at various clubs, which is how they became so tight as a band. These versions were recorded at the behest of their manager, Brian Epstein. Apparently, it was a relatively common practice at the time to record hit songs in other languages to sell in other countries, but the Beatles were reluctant to record it. This is really an example of the lack of control artists had in those days, another thing the Beatles changed over the course of their career.

Some random recommendation: Something from The Last Dinner Party. They only have 2 albums and you can’t go wrong! It’s not a specific genre but I like to call it “theater kids who couldn’t decide between making an album or a movie” since it’s so theatrical and painting a picture!
