morrissey hated the cure and even accused them of copying but he was kind of a bitter drunk asshole in general so i wouldn't worry about it lol. this is one of my fav albums ever oh God the lyrics, the instrumentation, the attitude..perfection

Every song this reaction is a journey lol “Idk not really feeling this one” —> “oh wait now it’s hitting ” “Oh fuck yeah” —> “It’s kinda mid tbh” Morrissey is a strange creature. Putting his politics in the modern era aside, he is a very strange blend of one part suicidally depressed, self-hating incel nerd and one part homoerotically catty, sarcastic, smarter-than-thou literature/philosophy major. His personality is very hard to wrap your head around so don’t feel bad about not really getting him. He also likes to swap between writing as himself in first person and writing stories from the perspective of characters he invented. Sometimes he likes to make it ambiguous on purpose to fuck with the listener.

since ur reacting to all these iconic bands..u should react to the band that inspired every single one of them the velvet underground ;) you wouldnt believe how experimental they were even by todays standards

i think this album has morrissey at his most mancunian and the lyrics and delivery is a bit weird at times unless you're used to people talking like that like we are here, but the instrumentation and melodies are incredible across the whole album. Its definitely a grower, especially Bigmouth and there is a light, they definitely higher than B for most id say

Loving your work man, just wondering when the next Arctic monkeys reaction is coming. It’s been a while 😅

Dan Hartzog

You should definitely do Johnny Cash. Live at Folsom Prison is probably the best one to hit.

Sometimes I wish the Smiths were just an instrumental band. I feel like the brilliance of the band gets overlooked because of the focus on Morrisey.

SuperPony

Man, you have a tendency to not like the most popular songs on albums lol great reaction tho

Sage is Typing...

Damn i didnt even notice there is a light has a billion streams wtf

SleepySkeleton

This album is one of the most influential albms of all time and widely considered one of the best rock albums of all time.

"To die by your side is sich a heavenly way to die" is a goated lyric

Cadan Richards

You'd probably enjoy the last album a lot more than this one. Like Meat is Murder its quite an underrated album imo. The band have also considered Strangeways as their finest work even though it is the last and sounds different once again to the previous albums. Johnny Marr really does shine.

LoreMyster

I think you'll agree that The Queen Is Dead is pretty overrated, personally by favourite album is the debut, but production wise and song quality, meat is murder is the best album by far
