Before watching I have a feeling he’s gonna love dead in the water

TheOptimist

I think in the next one dead to the world is one to listen out for, that’s, in my opinion, easily the best song on the album

TheOptimist

“Next one is called Holy Grail” no??

joseph

I’m ready to get back to LG

Michael Coy

Great reaction to this one. The next album, Council Skies, is probably better than all but 3 Oasis albums, it's a masterpiece.

Justin Morgan

Noel took a break from full albums and did 3 EP's between "Who Built the Moon" and "Council Skies", would recommend you doing a reaction to all 3 as they basically makeup an album. The EP's are "Black Star Dancing", "This is the Place", and "Blue Moon Rising". Each have 3 tracks and 2 remixes.. So 9 tracks if you skip the remixes. They were released in 2019-2020.

Chris Disley

So that recording of “Dead In The Water” was played on the fly during a recording of some songs for a TV show. He didn’t know it was recording, he was just practicing it. The pianist didn’t know what to play and it was improvised. I think the song is special because Noel doesn’t know he’s being recorded so its very personal, as if he is pouring his soul into the song.

Im gonna throw this rec our thers "Everything harmony" by the lemon twigs. An absolutely beatiful, tender, emotional album extremely well prodouced

jerrun holt

And also i low key think you gotta movw on from the oasis solo abums ngl

Preston Freels

You should listen to the dreams we had a children live album Noel did it’s a semi acoustic show Noel did at a charity event

J

the EP he did after this is brilliant and minimalist, Sail on is probs my favourite solo song of his

lee

Council skies is definitely his best album

lee

This was the fist and only album he went in the studio with nothing and wrote while recording

Michael Coy

Noel did an acoustic set at Union Chapel it's perfection, you should give it a look.

Idk who told you this would be like Beach Boys or what they were smoking lol This album literally tore the fanbase in two, either you were into him doing something different or you viewed this as a betrayal and him going “disco”. You say this album sounds very 2015 but for a guy who has spent most of his career trying to sound like 1969 that is actually a pretty large departure. Fort Knox Was actually inspired by Kanye’s Power, the opening track from MBDTF. Not that Noel wanted to do hip-hop but he tried to capture a similar vibe. The song actually had a full set of lyrics at one point but Noel said that he thought removing most of his singing improved it. Dead In The Water is such a flex. “Oh btw here is one of the best songs I ever wrote as a bonus track”

Cadan Richards

Dead in the Water live is such an emotional experience. I saw him in 2023 and he played it with the whole crowd singing the chorus. It was such a magical moment.

Michael Coy

Oh no, a big time disagree

Definitely Manley

The guy who proclaimed Council Skies a “masterpiece” doesn’t care for exaggerated expression? C’mon, now… It’s a fine album if you like easy-listening/lounge music, I guess; not for me, mate.

Gerard McCartan

Great reaction mate. Noel annoys me. Dead In the Water here is top level songwriting. Yet it was just from a pre radio show soundcheck for the engineers at RTE Radio in Dublin an hour or so before he was to go live to do bloody Wonderwall and a Chasing Yesterday song in 2015. The piano guy just improvised. The only reason it got released atall was because someone leaked the RTE version. So they stuck it on Who Built the Moon? The fact Noel has these songs yet trolls out typical Oasis style mainstream stuff annoys me lol 30 years ago he wrote massive hits like Wonderwall Champagne Supernova, Columbia The Masterplan Whatever Dont Look Back In Anger, Fuc*in in the bushes etc Is he trapped into feeling he has to try and re-write generational songs that made him world famous and so wont go far out too often? The guy has great songs in him, i worry he just plays safe. Great reaction Sage. Balanced and fair mate!!

Great reaction, Sage! That was a fun watch. Sad to see Holy Mountain go from almost A/high B to C :p and was kinda expecting The Man Who Built The Moon to make it to S! I love this record. It's such a blast of energy and Noel trying a bunch of different stuff... definitely the weirdest/most experimental Gallagher-related album to date – which makes it a very divisive one amongst the fanbase. The one that comes next, Council Skies, is a more Noel-by-the-numbers record, also considered a return to form by some; I personally find it to have great melodies (I'm Not Giving Up Tonight, Dead To The World and Think Of A Number are simply gorgeous), but a somewhat bland and derivative production as well.
