I really didn't expect this listen to be so nostalgic

You should check out their new stuff with Emily Armstrong! Their new album is solid, but what I'd recommend is this livestreamed concert they did as the announcement that I'm certain brought many a Linkin Park fan to tears: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IL1nlWOciL0 Saw them tour last year and while it'll never be the same without Chester, it's hard to ask for anyone better to bring them back - incredible show. I think it's really smart of them to go with a female vocalist rather than trying to find a carbon copy of Chester, which is just a losing game - either they sound off and it's disappointing or they sound too close that it seems kind of offensive to his memory. Emily brings a very different sound, but her singing their early hits just feels like she belongs there perfectly. If you plan on listening to Meteora I'd wait until after to watch this show as the setlist draws mostly from those first two albums, but it's really a moving resurrection of a band I'd pretty much forgotten about since middle/high school.

You gotta do Bob Dylan (Highway 61, Blonde on Blonde, Blood on the Tracks esp.)
