i don’t think it’s worth viewing some of these songs like they’re about a specific person/relationship. geordie seems to be reckoning with a lot of the inflated male ego visible in social media and has manifested in a lot of “red pill” types (not to say, that such attitudes haven’t existed for a long time, visible in a song like through a war) these ppl want to maintain such an image, they go to great lengths to prove to others that they’re worth more in this insane patriarchal structure.

I'm glad you enjoyed this one so much. It's one of my favorite albums of the decade so far. We have the same general interpretation of this album, though I don't think it's a breakup album. I think it's just about the main character perusing these fake relationships with people, even though he desire's something more genuine. The Magician is him fully acknowledging his lack of genuine relationships, and the closer is him basically choosing to keep living in his fake 'dream' world. I would absolutely recommend checking out Black Midi's albums. They only released three and they're all amazing. Hellfire in particular is an all-time favorite for me. Also, putting The Magician in B is a travesty, literally a top 10 song ever for me.

Also, I think you'd really mess with Masayoshi Takanaka. He's an amazing guitar player from Japan that does mostly instrumental music. A lot of his stuff has the Latin influences you enjoyed on this one. I'd recommend his debut called 'seychelles'.
