It's a bit of a dark horse, but I would highly recommend Pinkerton (next album by Weezer) if you had fun with this.

BadForReal

if you wanna see more from Weezer, the natural path is to check their following album: Pinkerton Pinkerton is my favorite album of theirs and one of the main debates for Weezer fans is to pick which one is their best album between Blue and Pinkerton. I've also just made a (long ass) post about Pinkerton on Discord (reaction-suggestions server) if you wanna know a bit more about it. Cheers.

pinkerton next to get an idea of the crazy switch ups that make up weezers entire trajectory as a band

Don't mean to hijack this thread but sage will you retrospectively do some Radiohead music videos now that you are doing reactions + MVs? They have some iconic ones

Yeah Pinkerton is an album of all time for me. I hope he does it

Nerdiest most cringeworthy band I love them

Grunge was more of a movement than it was a genre that can be defined with a particular sound. It started in the very late 80s with bands like Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam all forming out of Seattle. All of these bands were all under the broad genre of alternative rock, and each was take on a specific genre. Nirvana was punk. Alice in Chains was metal. Pearl Jam and Soundgarden were classic rock. Other contemporary rock bands that had catchy riffs/choruses and personal lyrics like Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer and Stone Temple Pilots were grouped in with the grunge movement despite not being a part of that original Seattle scene.

Btw the Buddy Holly music video uses footage from the 1970s, set-in-the-50s sitcom Happy Days, they edited Weezer in. The guy dancing is The Fonz played by Henry Winkler lol

Pinkerton would be the best to go to next

Sausage Breadson

I'm pretty sure the line about "crushing your pretty toenails into a thousand pieces" was about him being such a dork and bad dancer that if she wasn't floating he would have managed to step on her foot when they were dancing. It's quite the trope.

Max

we need pinkerton immediately next month

eduardoyukio

Pinkerton. Banger banger banger

polyethenepam

haha, i think this is the most i've seen you dance to a song for buddy holly! also, that little guitar lick is like, one of the most guitar licks ever. people sometimes say "oh, you just got weezered!" and have the guitar lick in the background

J

love this album and Pinkerton equally, 1 word of caution is be selective with all their others if you do them, they release the occsional gem every few years randomly but then lots of shite

so happy youre finally on weezer :) I recently saw them live and it was genuinely one of the greatest experiences in my life. Super excited to see your thoughts on future albums! Pinkerton, Green, Maladroit, Make Believe, Red, Everything Will Be Alright in the End, White, OK Human(This one is a must), and the new Gold album are all so incredible and catchy. so much to chose from and love

the buddy holly music video is actually an old episode of 1960s show "Happy Days". this music video was really cool because it was modern weezer with old actors from an old tv show, but yet it looks like theyre right there. really cool
