Sadly, Christianity and the Bible being used for money and politics is nothing new. The reason that the current Bible in use is called the King James version is because King James paid to have it rewritten with the changes that the King wanted in it that fit with his political agenda. I have not been Christian for 35 year, but I was brought up Catholic, and I still am fighting the fact that I was brought up with those beliefs and the fact that our society has so much "Christian values" that it shoves down our throats.
