It's funny, during the whole "Attack on Titan is a pro-fascist show" argument, I was thinking: "no, it's more akin to a Paul Verhoeven movie, where it presents itself as fascist propaganda, but is actually criticizing those ideas" and then Cody just mentioned Verhoeven as a counterpoint argument. I think Attack on Titan has been appropriated by people in the alt-right who didn't get the point, just like Scarface has been appropriated by would-be gangsters who didn't get the point of the movie, or how Zack Snyder doesn't get the point of (mostly) anything he adapts, from "Dawn of the Dead", to "Watchmen", to "Superman", because he thinks every story is actually a riff on "The Fountainhead". Also, I'm down with the holidays, they're my weekly dose of harmless cringe.

I have to wonder if Rittenhouse getting off is going to lead to more right-wingers bringing guns and leftist groups feeling they have to be armed because the state has always shown an utter disregard for right-wing violence. Stupid people with guns angry and in numbers is terrifying.
