Everybody shut up. That crawfish fucker talking about how "Nader elected Bush" is as wrong as he is geometric. The supreme court straight up stole the 2000 election for Bush, rationalizing it through a ruling they declared couldn't be referenced as precedent for future rulings, because even they couldn't contort themselves into a coherent logic pretzel to justify this one. (Oddly enough, they used the 14th amendment, which they've now decided doesn't cover any of the human rights we've had enshrined in law for the past ~50 years, but did guarantee everyone the right to own a gun in DC v Heller). This hits close to home: in 2011, I was a candidate for the Green Party of Canada under the slogan "not left or right but straight ahead". At the time I was politically illiterate enough that it made total sense to me, but in retrospect the party was trying to water down its environmental policies with "centrist" neoliberalism
