Victoria A Wilder

I totally get the relationship between Belle and Rumple...because I'd love him just as much as she does. ^_^ He's truly the second hottest person in this show for me (Regina being number one)

It also occurs to me how interestingly the mother-child relationships are portrayed in this show. Mila abandons Bealfire for her own good...but both Snow and Emma gave up their child, too. The difference being Emma did it because she didn't think she could be a good mother to Henry, and Snow did it to save everyone because she's a hero and that's what heroes do. Both did it for what's seen as noble reasons. But all three essentially abandoned their children. Then, we have Cora and Regina. Cora refuses to let her daughter go, using abusive tactics to try to keep her in her life. Regina was doing the same for a while, before realizing that it wasn't the way. So far, Regina's the only one who not only didn't abandon her child, but she also "let him go" when she knew it was what he wanted. It was, like Emma, for his own good. She did what none of the other mothers could. Which also brings to mind the mirroring between Regina and Emma, even down to their light and dark coloring (blonde and brunette pairing). It's why I tend to refer to them as platonic wives, being both mothers to the same kid. Emma being given up by her mother, Regina being smothered and controlled by hers. Emma being a "hero", Regina being a "villain". And in this current arc, Emma being raised in our world and thrust into a world of magic in the Enchanted Forest, and Regina being raised in that magical world, then coming to this one. I just find it fascinating, the sort of parallels between them. (And I just ship them for my own fun.) Disney has never had a good run with parents...and that's shown really well throughout this show, not just with the mothers. It's all very interesting to me and I think about it all the time.

💯 agree, I understand & identity with RumBelle’s relationship. “I can fix him” “Girl, NO, you can’t” But we keep trying anyway. Who doesn’t love a challenge 🤷‍♀️😆 Robert Carlyle was the reason I started watching this show in the first place…So Rumple is my #1 hottie of the show, Regina is runner up for sure! 😉😁

We love a “SwanQueen” shipper, and a fantastic example of the light/dark character pairing trope. This show does that trope very well with a few characters, but Emma & Regina’s dynamic is definitely a highlight. Really enjoyed your comments & insight.

Woohoo! You’ve finally met Captain Hook aka Captain Eyeliner 😆 He is very pretty! I loved how you kept calling him a bully. I couldn’t help but say out loud, to nobody, “Of course he’s a bully, he’s a villain!!!” 😂😂😂 But I do get it, Captain Hook is usually about good form and bullying is a tad bit beneath him. We are meeting him at a younger age, and with both hands. It’s possible he is more humble and has learned a lesson about bullying, now that a “crocodile” has taken his hand. I love the way this show keeps a lot of the characters grey and sympathetic to a point. It adds a relatable grounded feeling in an otherwise super fantastical story. Good writing. Belle is addicted to fixing/saving Rumple, just as much as Rumple is addicted to magic /power. It can be a frustrating trope at times, but it is one that I personally identify with & enjoy watching. I’m a sucker for tragic romances that last forever. Give me all that longing & tension, it fuels my soul!!!

Thank you for your comment on mine! And we're aligned in that every time she called him a bully, I was also like, "Well, yea...he's a pirate and a villain."
