Thank you for answering my question! I thought it might have been too broad but you guys were locked and loaded. And thank you for redacting the surnames on YT, it never even occurred to me! I’m switching to my pseudonym 😂

I remember feeling so torn when they cast Peter Dinklage as Tyrion. Book Tyrion is much younger (as are most of the characters tbh) and back then I felt like Dinklage had too much maturity and gravitas. But after seeing him in the role I can’t imagine it any other way, he owns that character completely.

I’ve seen the name a few times and did wonder why you changed it 😂 no problem at all! It was a great question!

I think overall Dinklage had the best acting performance in the show followed by Lena Headey as Cersei and Charles Dance as Tywin. But I feel like those were all very strongly written characters in the books already, so if we think about characters that elevated their roles the most I think Pedro Pascal as Oberyn. He completely owned the role and even managed to improve the book character in every possible way. On the opposite end we have Pilou Asbek as Euron Greyjoy. One of the most menacing characters in the books turned into a comedy relief Temu pirate...

I’ve changed it again by demand of the people 😂

The idea of democracy to vote for your king is a horrible idea as it can lead to blackmail, corruption and biasing/conspiring of the nobles to gain favour in the voting

Watching it back now- thank you so much for waiting for me to get back to answer my question 🤣 I didn't realise how long it was

Unfortunately I can tell that Dinklage is an American putting on an English accent and especially within the other Lannister casts it reeeeeally sticks out to me. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Jack Gleeson's accents never really stuck out for me in the same way. Having said that I don't think anyone else could have done the "I wish I was the monster you think I am!" speech quite like he did- and I think he could absolutely have pulled off evil book Tyrion too. I don't think Emilia Clarke gets anywhere near enough credit for her portrayal of Daenerys, she's basically the reason I continued watching the first season. Same with Michelle Fairley as Catelyn Stark, she's just incredible in The Rains of Castamere. Jason Mamoa was born to play Khal Drogo, and as TT mentioned Pedro Pascal as Oberyn was unbelievable.
