For me, Season One of LOST is the greatest 1st season of any show ever. I'd never watched it or really knew anything about it, but my roommate had season one on DVD. I asked to borrow it and finished the whole first season in a span of 27 hours I think. Phenomenal.

Back when this was new and I was watching it, I remember thinking it was very different than your usual fair on TV as it seemed like a movie every week plus there was always a cliffhanger.

One of the best pilot episodes in TV history. Also, in case anyone hasn’t let you guys know in any other episode comments, the original plan was to cast Michael Keaton as Jack and then kill him off in the first episode, to show that anyone could die and anything could happen on the show. But the network was scared of the prospect of killing off the show’s lead immediately, and Keaton wasn’t interested in doing a full series so he dropped out and they cast Matt Fox.

I'm only like 10 minutes in but I switched devices to type a comment. You should recognize at least two people from this so far. Evangeline Lilly played Tauriel the elf in the Hobbit movies, and Dominic Monaghan played Meriadoc Brandybuck in Lord of the Rings. You recognized Jorge Garcia already yes, he played The Blitz in a HIMYM episode. A lot of popular actors in the early 2000s got their start in this show or it was at the height of their career. Harold Perrineau is in From right now for example. Terry O'Quinn shows up in a lot of shows in guest roles - he was in one of the Walking Dead series as well as Falling Skies and no doubt a lot of others. Josh Holloway was in a show called Colony with Sarah Wayne Callies from Walking Dead, as well. Most of them are scifi shows so if you don't watch this genre then it's understandable. Maggie Grace was also in one of the Walking Dead shows and I can't say more without spoilers. This'll be a fun ride.

The music in this show feels so heavenly... It matches the characters journeys and stories perfectly. I played the theme to this for my Kitty during his last few days.. Kept him so calm.

This is going to be so fun! Back in the day, we used to discuss weekly what we thought was happening amoung our group. I had friends through LOST birthday parties who were in their 20's. Severance has a little of that these days, and also maybe Silo, but this was the last great weekly mystery.

Yes, the curly haired guy was in HIMYM. Lost was very popular at the time and they put a bunch of Lost references in that episode. It'd be cool if you guys watched that episode again after you finish Lost (you don't necessarily need to finish Lost first, there are not spoilers in the HIMYM episode)

OMG, I was just wondering if you were going to get to this series. This show was HUGE in the US. It was one of the first shows to take advantage of the internet to leave cryptic clues and webisodes and fake web sites for various companies and organizations that you will see coming up in the show. People, including myself, went effing CRAZY scouring the internet and posting freeze frames of the show and analyzing every single and postulating theories. It became like those hollywood detective bulletin boards with yarn strings connecting the dots, but times a gazillion. Can't wait to see your cut reaction to Walkabout 1x4. That episode's ending is when I was in for the ride.

That's a great point about how many people tuned in to keep up with the show. I didn't love the last season, but I love the finale. And it seems like most people who didn't like the finale didn't understand it, so your comment makes a lot of sense.

I finally decided to get on Patreon to support you guys as I saw you started watching LOST, which is my all time favourite show followed closely by How I Met Your Mother so I'm getting absolutely spoiled with your content at the moment haha I'm 29 and grew up watching these 2 shows on TV religiously. LOST was especially great (before the days of bingewatching) we had to wait a whole week for the next episode to come out and everyone at school was making predictions about what was going to happen next, the show was very popular in Australia. Very excited to see your thoughts on the show and which characters you gravitate towards, I wish I could erase my memory and re-watch this show from the beginning again, you guys are in for a great ride, enjoy!
