This episode and episode 4 are what hooked me into this show for good. Jack's story with his father and last episode with locke's story. There was no going back after that! My new cats get to enjoy this 10th go around with Lost.. They don't know what they're in for🤪💩

Just loved how you cracked the mystery of the book at the end, in the outro! Really cool! (I won't mention the titel here, that might spoil the fun for other viewers..)

Listening to your post-episode discussion where you're talking about Jack trying to save everyone and how as a doctor you eventually realize you can't, and if you can't come to terms with that it's going to wreck you, reminds me that if guys haven't seen the show Scrubs, I highly recommend it. It's a goofy as hell sitcom set in a hospital, but has some hugely emotional gut-punch storlines and episodes, and that very idea of a doctor not being able to handle being unable to save every patient is part of one of the best things that show ever did.

Jeff K.

Also: I know you guys are way ahead on this show so I’m sure it’s already been pointed out, but two Brits not picking up on “living is easy with eyes closed” being a Beatles lyric almost feels blasphemous… hahaha

‘Follow the white rabbit’ is actually a reference to Lewis Caroll’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’. So are the red/blue pills. Matrix did not invent anything here 😁

Great intro and chart on this one fellas! There were many chat rooms and articles similar to this when the show came out that helped us all keep our heads straight

Andrew Larson

Nick: "I hate it when this show ends." I hear you there, sir.

CN

Loooove your spreadsheet! 🤣🤣🤣

Bunny

The book Sawyer is reading is Watership Down. It's about bunnies no less, about the survival of their group and being forced out of their fields to a new land... So it kind of ties into what the Oceanic survivors must endure and go up against. I Read this when I was younger and watched the insanely freaky cartoon that was created from it.

{{{LOST files}}} are the best! Jack is under an extreme amount of pressure, maybe the most because he’s driven to save everyone and carries the guilt if he fails.

Mike

Like most shows, so far you guys are really just getting to know the characters. Nothing has even happened yet. You have no idea what you’re in for 🤯 I love seeing all your thoughts and theories now. I can’t wait to see what you guys think as you get further into the show.

Krista Rister

Please keep track of everything Sawyer reads. It's quite a trip. And his nicknames for people

Chris B

I've seen many Lost reactions. I've never seen anyone doing a XLS spreadsheet :)

Duckfest

Definitely! Haha. I can 't even read that line without hearing the melody in my head.

I wonder what other philosophers who wrote about similar topics to John Locke (specifically, the “state of nature”) might be? Hmm…

In hindsight after what we learn in episode 6, I LOVE the scene at 25:53 where Sayid is questioning Sun about the water. Kate: She doesn’t underst- Sayid: She understands me… Sayid’s interrogation skills on display.
