Chapter 58
“Something has gone wrong,” Silver Angel said. “I feel it in my bones.”
She stood with Uber Woman atop a building half a block from the House of Joy. They had line of sight on the front door of that notorious BDSM sex club. Uber Girl and Omega Girl flew around high enough to be hidden in the darkness above, keeping an eye on the back door. Her car waited in the alley behind the building upon which she stood.
“I admit, I’m having misgivings, too, but Purple Avenger warned us it could take longer than she anticipated, or not even happen tonight,” Uber Woman said. “We have to give her grace, since it’s a very fluid situation within that house of hell, and she has to be extra careful.”
“Mistress Patriot’s caravan of cars is coming up the road,” Uber Girl came over the phone on speaker.
Silver Angel leaned out and looked back down the street. And there they were, moving quickly up the mostly deserted road. While there was always traffic in Sugar Town, 24/7, the men thinned out by 3 AM. Even on Saturday night, now Sunday morning. The four big black SUVs bookending a large Mercedes Benz van, turned into a party bus, stood out.
They watched the small caravan slow and stop before the House of Joy. Street people gathered to either side of the door, creating a corridor of humanity for Mistress Patriot and her enslaved heroines to pass along. Uber Woman cursed under her breath as multiple people emerged from the sex club, looking to be women, but the crowd obscured their view.
“I can’t see who is with Mistress Patriot.”
“I can,” Omega Girl said, sounding stressed. “Mistress Patriot is leading Purple Avenger on a leash.”
“Oh shit!” Silver Angel snapped. “Shit! Shit! SHIT!”
“I see Patriot Girl, Silver Girl, and Justice Star, too,” Omega Girl said. “And another redhead with Tyrone, Ozzie, and Punch.”
The brightest, most powerful of lights suddenly strobed up and all around. Both flying heroines cried out, and even Silver Angel and Uber Woman reeled back when hit by that intense light. And then the lights went out on the entire block, plunging everything into darkness.
They heard more than saw the five vehicles peel out and away.
“They night blinded us to get a head start,” Silver Angel said. “Fly up higher to be safe to recover, and then start looking for them as soon as your eyes clear. We know where they are going, so shouldn’t be hard to find them.”
Uber Woman lead Silver Angel to the back of the building, and then picked her up and carried her down to the her car. They stood in that near absolute darkness until Silver Angel could make out objects and shapes.
“I’m good to drive,” she said. “Now join Uber Girl and Omega Girl. Find my daughter and call me. We’ll take them down.”
Uber Woman flew up and away without a word. The determination on her friend’s masked face was all she needed. Uber Woman would not let them escape again. Mistress Patriot would be taken down and the four enslaved heroines would be freed. Of course, the arduous task of deprogramming them would start immediately.
“Found them!” Uber Girl cried over their conference call. “Northbound on Carter approaching Delaney. Moving about twenty over the speed limit.”
“On the way,” Silver Angel said, and started her car. She peeled out amid a cloud of burning rubber.
She listened to the excited chatter of the three fliers. Uber Woman controlled Omega Girl and Uber Girl so that the bad guys didn’t see them, so the bad guys wouldn’t do anything stupid. Silver Angel’s powerful Italian sports car propelled her up the road at insane speeds, but Uber Woman also watched her approach so could warn of other cars on an intercept course. Within minutes the Silver Mobile caught up with the fleeing Mistress Patriot convoy.
“Let’s drop down and hit them hard,” Uber Woman said.
“Hey!” Omega Girl cried. “What the hell?”
“They spotted us,” Uber Woman cried. “They’re splitting up. The last vehicle is going straight to lure you away, Silver Angel.”
“Mistress Patriot’s van turned right on Delaney,” Uber Girl said. “The bodyguards in the other four vehicles are trying to either split us up or lure us away.”
“Holy moly,” Omega Girl said. “That van is driving insanely. Maybe we should back off before they crash and kill everyone inside?”
“That’s what they want,” Uber Woman said. “So let’s just back off a little. Or give the illusion of doing so. Follow me. We’re going to ambush them up ahead.”
“I’m almost caught up,” Silver Angel said. “So I’ll be there for you when it goes down.”
Turning off her headlights, Silver Angel accelerated until she just started to catch glimpses of the party bus’s rear lights and brake lights. They were doing eighty-five, blasting through intersections, through red lights as well. So dangerous.
“Silver Angel, we’re going to fly in and hit them as they cross Ferguson Street.”
“Great, I have eyes on them right now.” She pressed the accelerator all the way down. “Accelerating to attack speed!”
The busty blonde heroine closed quickly with the Mercedes van. It accelerated into the intersection, and then three feminine shapes streaked out of the darkness from the right and slammed feet first along the roof line to topple it over. The large vehicle skidded on it’s side, sparks flying along the pavement for the longest time, before coming to a stop when it slammed into a fire hydrant.
Water fountained up and all over everything. She skidded to a stop just beyond the falling water, and then rushed in on foot as the three fliers landed and joined her. Angry, battered, and bruised men came out the side door. So many men.
No women came out. Why wasn’t at least Mistress Patriot coming out to fight? She was empowered, and a bigger threat than all of the men combined. Was she injured in the crash? Was Autumn hurt? Panic welled up within Silver Angel.
All of them were utterly drenched even before they came together. Ten big, strong men against four super heroines. Wasn’t even a contest. Uber Woman, Uber Girl, and Omega Girl lifted up and flew around in their fight, coming at men from all directions. So the men turned their attention on the lone heroine on the ground. Silver Angel didn’t back down. Indeed, she charged into battle with a vengeance.
It was elbows and flashing feet for several minutes, while other heroines flew all around in a chaotic battle strategy that only they understood. Silver Angel was as confused by their tactics as the men, but they were on her side. When four men converged on her from all sides, Omega Girl and Uber Girl flash through, taking three of them down, leaving the fourth for her to deal with. Then she finished off the other three when they tried to get back up.
The fight might have lasted five minutes. That was stretching it. But as the others finished off the last of the men, Silver Angel leapt up atop the overturned van and looked inside for her daughter.
“Nothing,” she cried, disbelieving. “They tricked us! It was just those stupid men!”
“No way,” Uber Woman cried, flying up to look inside herself. “Fuck me!”
“Find them,” Silver Angel commanded.
Uber Girl took off first, then Omega Girl. Uber Woman hesitated. “This doesn’t look good. I’m afraid we were played tonight.”
Silver Angel nodded. She understood. It was very unlikely they’d catch Mistress Patriot, much less find and free any of the captured heroines. At least not that night. And then Uber Girl called her mentor.
“What do you have?”
“I am seeing five big black SUVs speeding toward Daul Manor, all on different roads,” she said. “Omega Girl DMed me to say she sees four more. How are we supposed to know which one to go after?”
Uber Woman looked at Silver Angel, anguish in her expressive eyes. They both dropped their eyes and shook their heads. They’d failed that night, and it looked like they lost another friend. Purple Avenger belonged to Mistress Patriot.
