I drew a cover this morning and when I finished it I thought to myself, I couldn't have drawn that a few years ago. Improvement is still possible. I can feel the green shoots of recovery &c &c.

ITEM! That's not quite all, apparently we're less than two weeks away from the 15th anniversary of the debut of the Bad Machinery webcomic. How will I celebrate this fiesta? Based on how I forgot to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Bobbins (2023) and the 20th anniversary of Scary Go Round (2022), you may have to arrange the fiesta amongst yourselves.

In a way I see this cover as representing Lottie’s personal growth over the year(?) since her house arrest. She’s gone from being weighed down in a situation beyond her control to now fully dominating the picture, being an inescapable force as she should be. The poses she’s doing in most of these says it all. I feel like she could be on her way to fully escaping the metaphorical dumpster.

Geometric!

This looks amazing! Femme fatale Lottie (lower right) is something else.

The five-way rotational symmetry in this is excellent, it really took a while to click, I was examining all the different elements and then when I finally spotted the pentagon in the top left the whole layout started to become clear. Very good!

Wow. 21st Century Ditko bizniss 🤩

So it's about "the Unspeakable Dimension" (or nobody can talk about it?) Well, Charlotte seems to have merged with the possibilities! Naked Skeleton Selfies! What next, I'm not sure to ask... But this is a beautiful cover!

Charlotte has become Mad Hot!

Pierpaolo Di Camillo

Between this cover and last week's drawing of Lottie in that beautiful black evening gown, it's safe to say that Esther has nothing left to teach her. Perhaps the student has even surpassed the teacher.

Cassidy Percoco

Every so often, I have the same feeling about my writing. It's a good one!

Not really Solver related but I recently managed to get my hands on Giant Days vol 1 library edition at a comic store in central Bristol. Very exciting! (Less so that they thought they had a copy of GBBO and then couldn't find it so I guess I'll be going back at some point for that...)

“Um, I think you will find that I am Esther CONCENTRATED.” She wasn’t kidding.

Was this issue ever posted up as a PDF? Concerned I've missed out, as I had no idea this story was running on the site and tend to read the PDFs when they get posted.

Stuart Gipp

Apologies for the slightly whinging tone of the preceding comment.

Just search for posts tagged "PDF" or "Solver" if you missed it - should be the top result for both

Thanks, I appreciate it. I searched and, oddly, it isn’t. Perhaps I’m on the wrong patron tier? EDIT: Yes, turns out that was it. Oddly I don't remember dropping it, I must have been in straits. Sorry to waste your time and thanks.

scarygoround

Ha, no problem, Stuart, glad you could work it out.

2025 Luke here. Wow I completely misinterpreted this cover
