I was back at life drawing yesterday, after several months off. This spring, I had found that I hit a wall with it - going most weeks got exhausting, especially after long days drawing and my difficulties with that earlier in the year. But having got on top of some of the issues I was having with repeatedly re-doing parts of pages (I switched pencils from the first job to the last job, starting each day with inking, and set a time limit on webcomic pages), it was nice to return refreshed and the results were decent - the first good class in a long while.

As a naturally fast artist, I find any pose longer than 15 minutes leads to me overworking the picture. I don't have the skill to render forever and unlike some of the brilliant people in my class, I can't go maverick to take the drawing somewhere else. It is what it is. These drawings are to help me maintain my art practice, not necessarily to present to anyone else. But I thought these were worth sharing.

I'm no expert in these matters, but the shading in these is really nice

The only way to draw bodies is by drawing bodies. Nicely done.

This is a very cool departure from your norm! I hope you find refreshment and revitalization.

Very nice. My biggest problem was always getting too focused on a single line and losing the sense of proportions. Arms too big, spine too long, that sort of thing.

Steve McSheffrey

They were very much worth sharing. Thank you for doing so!

Love how it's possible to recognise your style even in your studies. To me, the bad thing with long poses it's losing the time doing particulars, ending up with an unfinished work. While having less time force me to draw everything the faster I can. My favourite toll is the Koh - i- Noor magic pencil. It's so powerful.

That lady don't got any clothes on.

I recall all of those poses from my life drawing classes long ago. Glad you're able to keep in practice again!
