The new Photoshop beta has the Adobe Firefly AI features built in so I have been playing with them. While obviously I fear AI taking my job (and everyone else's) I do think it has a significant role as a visual aide when built into software when you, like me, are not the absolute king of visual imagination. While its efforts to rework my characters were predictably not great, when I gave it panels to to extend, I found the results quite interesting. So here are a few for your amusement.

It struggled with my request for "long, beautiful hair" for Claire but, I mean, it halfway got there.

As for Lottie, well, I guess we know who it is...

So far, so amusant. But then I gave it backgrounds to work on and you begin to see the magic at work. First, Claire's room seems to go on forever...

And here's a sneak peek at Steeple 17: COMPUTER ENHANCED. Warning: this panel is not actually this exciting.

I particularly like this one.

Now, do you remember "Christmas With Clovis"? You could never have imagined what lay beyond the panel edge...

I was quite impressed that it managed to finish Maggie's leg below, which was cropped at the panel edge. Worryingly convincing J. Allison leg.

Finally, Billie's Brian-fooling fake sabbat from Steeple Lite. Squint, and this is extremely convincing.

Bear in mind: this is the original...

Fun, right? Nightmarish fun!

Claire's room has become a TARDIS in proportions, with a similar brown-ish aesthetic to David Tennant's console room. That, or she's had a very self-destructive pyromania episode and burnt the wallpaper off the walls.

Plus it comes equipped with either a wall-mounted fax machine or paper towel dispenser. I think.

That 5th one looks like Claire skinned Ben Grimm and hung the bits from her ceiling.

Finally technology has answered the age-old question "Can an intelligence, which doesn't know what anything means, draw a picture that makes sense?"

Today I've learned that AI could be good if you want to describe the deformed way someone with a terrible hangover can see things around her.

You and your pet-AI are all set to start illustrating Susannah Clark's *Piranesi*!

Not to worry. The advanced versions of this, and this is the Model T version, will soon be your hard working assistant who does all the fill in while you and your carpel tunnel wrist (and I'm surprised how many artists have this) just direct it.

More legs, vicar?

Sean

with the answer "no".

On the plus side, if you ever want to set a story in a Nightmare Dimension, you're all set!

I'm impressed at how long Bili's leg has to be for the foot to be sticking out there. And, that Maggie's clothing turns out to cover only her front side.
