Being somewhat of an over-thinker and anxious person myself, I am genuinely really loving the hints to Nick’s emotional (anxious) struggles. I hope it foreshadows a change in their relationship dynamic. Due to Charlie’s mental health struggles Nick has taken the role of caretaker (which was not a bad thing) but being focused on your partner’s feelings and emotions can make you downplay or ignore your own. I am excited to see how Alice continues to showcase the emotional and personal growth in their relationship 💖.

Love Tara now she is the naughty angel with horns added. 😍 It is difficult seeing Nick here -- so much captured in that last drawing. He is just so concerned about Charlie outgrowing him (is what I read). He is happy Charlie is blossoming -- but he feels like he is now not enough for him -- which is so sad. We already know that Nick finds it hard to be his real self without Charlie around -- and it feels like those two things are really dragging him down. The thing is -- we cannot see Charlie's face here -- but I imagine a blissed out smile after a really wonderful night with his friends -- and especially with Nick. These boys need to have a talk!

I agree Nick should talk to Charlie about what he's feeling AND I really respect Nick waiting a little while to do that. He's giving Charlie space to enjoy himself and he's giving himself (Nick) time to figure out how he feels and what he wants to say. I've been asked, gently, "Why didn't you tell me sooner? " and my answer was exactly that, and I think the conversation was better for it. Maybe because my emotions can be so big sometimes, I've learned to sit with them for a minute before I open up. And I think that's a good thing.

That look on Nick’s face. Pensive, concerned, unsure, tired, wistfully joyful. You are disproving that himbo label with a set of less than 20 pen strokes. Nick, always putting so much thought into how to support Charlie. But the relationship is for both of them, they both deserve the space and support to have room to grow. Communication is so difficult, and so necessary. We know they’ll figure it out together, and we’re here for the journey.

Elle’s nonchalant FYI to I suspect a now “this party is getting hard to contain and my parents are going to kill me” stressed out Tara (her ‘goddammit Nick and Charlie’ face says it all!) just cracks me up. Such a mood there in the now wee hours of the morning🎉😳 I love the time transition marked with the falling Heartstopper leaves (my favorites), to Nick and Charlie now sleeping. Well, one of them. The panel with Nick is filled with emotions, but, not ones our golden retriever is used to feeling. I’m not sure Nick currently could articulate yet what the building sensation of unease he has been experiencing (and burying/shaking off as nothing, because he is “fine”) even though we can see it in the details drawn here, especially with his eyes. But somewhere in there, Nick’s inner voice is trying to shout that “something isn’t right, and things are about to change and I don’t want them to change because I don’t know what that looks like for us, let alone for me, and I have all these expectations on me (and honestly I think he sets a lot of high expectations for himself!) with uni and rugby and decisions, and I don’t if I am good enough or capable enough to meet them, and what do I even want to do with my life, and I’ve just recently figured out some big things about myself and life is soooo good and why does it have to change!?! And at first Charlie needed me, now look at him! He has conquered so much and is now soaring and I’m so fucking happy for him because he deserves the whole world, god, I love him.., but…I think I need Charlie more than I thought too. It was said in the podcast and lots of people are avoiding it because it's quite spoilery. The hair thing yes is in the trailer but not the pronoun part (As for the question, it's where the show and comic version of the character diverges. That storyline was influenced by Kizzy playing Darcy)

I think leaves might also be foreshadowing a journey. Nick might be feeling ready to talk about what is troubling him. He seemed so excited for uni and Charlie's election campaigning but something has shifted. My heart hurts how isolated Nick seems in this. I thought both Charlie and Sarah would be more attuned to the soul behind the mask. Hopefully he feels safe in their bed and a good conversation is coming up.

Maybe Nick's thoughts are recent. The future, university etc. are subjects he's put out of his mind in the last few weeks (they both have) and he's been just living in the moment with Charlie, both on a buzz about the election. But events at the party brought them back to the forefront: Elle's 'Simp' comment, Charlie quitting Rugby plus a bit of alcoholic lubrication probably triggered it all. And Charlie just hasn't had time to figure something's up yet. But I'm sure he will.
