This is early in Charlie's tenure as Head Boy. He was still in that role in Nick & Charlie but at that time he would be coming towards the end.

Adore the call out panel with their hands locked tight as they walk. They have a love grip while strolling along (equally) beaming with pride. And in this very moment, on this very page, we see the evolution of the Heartstopper magic. Sure their are hurdles and trials ahead. But, look what these two amazing young men have overcome and accomplished together. I challenge anyone when turning to this page not to radiate a massive ear to ear smile while your heart pounds in your chest, realizing that love can actually concur all. God I love Heartstopper......❤️

This page might just do me in...it is SO beautifully drawn and the symbolism is making me all teary. I am always a sucker for a zoom in of their hand holds, as Alice can share so much of what Nick and Charlie are feeling this way...and here it sets the tone that at the base, their relationship is secure, confident, and lovingly anchored. Again, I am so proud with how they walk casually into school like any couple would, well, with the exception that they are also the RUGBY CAPTAIN and HEAD BOY (love their badges!) Power Couple! I also love all of our superstars' fans looking at them with such reverence, and know that Nick and Charlie are picking up on that positive energy too (I mean, look at the gorgeous, radiant smile on Charlie's face!!!) THEN, my favorite part of this whole page...the TREE. It is truly one of my favorite things Alice has ever drawn. Not only does it have our beloved Heartstopper leaves (clear symbols of transition and change❤️), this powerful yet delicate beauty has a strong base ( and no doubt strong roots!), along with new growth visible everywhere. And, trees are often sacred symbols of life and of connection...as well as metaphors for growth and strength, and even love and protection. Given Charlie's healing journey to this point where as Head Boy he is set to make real change at Truham, and seeing that juxtaposed to Nick's current (silently struggling) journey of having to branch off on his own, testing his own strengths and make his own decisions, this tree is so meaningful of their past, and their future, and it's also just the most picturesque moment in the present...I love it.

It’s so beautiful to see Charlie this way! Even Nick is smiling bigger! My take is there is nothing they can’t get through as long as they are together and holding onto each other’s hand ❤️❤️

Alice, I absolutely love how well, throughout this whole Chapter, you've drawn some of the onlookers facial expressions when N&C are publicly holding hands or otherwise being very obviously coupley. The guy immediately to our left of Nick. It's like a penny's dropped. Two boys are holding hands, not on tv or in a book but right in front of him, in his school, in real life. Maybe he's already heard of these two sixformers who were dating. He will have heard Charlie's speech. But now he's seeing it with his own eyes for the first time and is thinking 'wow', 'it's real', 'IT'S COOL'. 'Its Normal'. 'It's POSSIBLE.' I'm reminded by the look on Nick's face as he stares out of the car window at the end of Chapter 1. And I'm reminded of Mr. Farouk telling Charlie that some younger students would be INSPIRED by him being head boy. He was so, so, right. So Powerful!
