Love the little Christmas tree on Charlie's shelf, and I'm glad he is on good terms with his mum at the moment, we know from volume 5 that Jane is the way she is because of her own mother like it's hard when you do become a parent (I'm not a parent but I'm an fun Aunt to my almost 8year old nephew) anyways I know every parent has a different way of raising their children but I just wish Jane was a little easier on Charlie I know it's quite complicated to deal when your kid has mental health problems but knowing Charlie was able to tell them with Nick's help and they helped Chariie to get help for it, it's something that really showcases that trust happened in that so she needs to trust Charlie a bit more that's for sure but it would be kind of good to see a little more of Jane's backstory. Aww Nick what's wrong, our sweet boy?

It's wonderful to have the storyline coincide with actual Christmas. Christmas lights are my favourite so I love seeing that tree glow 🥰. I would be fascinated to see a mini comic of last summer and the development of these sleepovers. What an evolution of Charlie's parents. Are there rules attached? Do they expect no hanky panky? Does Michael stay over too?

The tree glowing is almost like the globe from the tv series glowing when they are happy together. It feels like they have been kind of separate for awhile with different things going on. It is nice to see these moments of togetherness and caretaking and hopefully that fidgeting leads to some talking.

This page is so warm, so nurturing, and so soft and tender...it has unconditional love written all over it, and I have been looking at it with happy tears all day. Charlie's intuitive and very intentional care meets Nick where he is, from helping Nick pull on his shirt to signify the "talk" doesn't have to happen immediately (this little act echoes Nick's knowing care of cooking dinner while Charlie worked on his Pride Club application, doing what he could to meet Charlie where he was back then), to our time change being shown with just TWO Heartstopper leaves (one for Nick and one for Charlie) transitioning TOGETHER, to snuggling up as close as possible in Charlie's tiny twin bed beside the cutest little glowing Christmas tree (that I can just imagine Charlie placing with care until he found just the right spot to give off sparkles of light and hope but not shine in their eyes while they slept!), to the small but important details of the pre-sharpened pencils (I see that academic in you, Charles!), to having KITTY in their shared space because KITTY is also so nurturing and soft...all of these details portray that longed for space of love, of being fully seen and still loved, of knowing trust and of feeling safe... BUT...then there's that pesky FIDGET...which I suspect is caused by the disturbance of all of those buried emotions from Nick's childhood pushing up, sticking in his mind on replay (especially since Charlie has noticed SOMETHING is off), asking him to give permission to himself to finally be honest (and by honest, I mean to not sugar coat, to not immediately think of excuses for his dad or others, but to try and think about little Nick, and little Nick's feelings...and to honestly and vulnerably let big Nick feel those for little Nick because they are still trapped in there!). Nick needs to say first to HIMSELF (and then to Charlie or his mum or a therapist) that the micro and macro traumas that happened were NOT OKAY, and that he really wasn't FINE then, and maybe, actually, he is STILL not fine with it. I think Nick has seen what unconditional love really CAN and DOES look like through his relationship with Charlie, and that is giving him some space to think about what it SHOULD have looked like when he was a kid. And that is a really shitty realization at first...fidget, restless, wiggle, fidget...
