Something else I wonder about. After Charlie’s inpatient stay he had a few relapses. One of them came after he and Nick had an argument about Charlie not eating the meal they were having. Charlie told Nick to fuck off and Nick left only to be called by Tori later because Charlie had hurt himself. Both boys apologized saying it was their fault but I wonder how much of the responsibility Nick internalized. He “left” and “it hurt Charlie”. That’s how he phrased it when he was talking to the girls on their uni trip. If I leave it’ll hurt Charlie. If I leave, if I say the wrong thing, if I stress him out by talking about my stress or my plans…. It’ll hurt Charlie. Nick not only tries to please, but he actively makes himself smaller so he doesn’t hurt people. He takes responsibility where it isn’t his. It’s a common thing for big guys who are also soft hearts. They make their big-ness smaller so they don’t hurt someone. Nick has a lot to sort out.

Oh, god. For sure that hurted Nick a lot. And, even If we wanna make it worse and we think about that time from Solitaire, Tori called him to say what happened telling him "Fuck you, this is your fault". Maybe that is not the "real" context of this situation in HS, but that would have been so bad for Nick.
