why this make me cry

Though unsurprising given her personality and parenting style, props to Sarah for giving Nick privacy by not initiating an embarrassing conversation after Charlie left despite the very messy hair and blushy faces (and for not jumping to conclusions about Nick not watching a film and going to bed like he had said and instead finding Charlie there when she returned - a fair number of parents would have assumed intentional sneakiness) #bestmumever

Sometimes thinking about it is even better than doing it. Not always, but sometimes.

Tell me why this is my new favorite page?!? It’s so darn cute 🥰

To anyone who sees this - no page today! (April 19th)! Had another long day in London and just don't have the time or energy tonight. 💖

You never have to explain, Alice. We have more than enough wonderful pages to re-read and enjoy. Rest and recuperate - that’s all you need to do!

I think Sarah is very intuitive and calm, plus she and Nick have a history of being able to talk about really hard topics. Open communication builds trust and that helps a parent allow space for their teen to come to them when they are ready. I think parents who struggle with control issues (or act of an irrational fear that they have created in their imaginations)like Jane are the ones who pressure or call their kids out. (and my opinion is that it's the parents job to foster a space where their kid feels safe having those hard topic talks...the onus should not be on the teen). If Jane can keep her promise to Charlie, I think that will really help strengthen his trust in her to be able to talk more openly and directly about hard things.

The love in his eyes is so apparent! The starry pupils and blushing while thinking about Charlie are adorable! 🥹🥰

Thanks to those who explained that the panels of Charlie are images from Nick’s memory. I was seriously confused about what was going on. Are there others or was it only me?

Cliff

Even with the “Heartstopper Moments” thingies! lol

In addition to the lighter colors Alice mentioned (and the sparkles!), that dreamy expression on Nick’s face, paired with his text about how he “can’t stop thinking about it,” made it feel fairly clear to me, at least. :)
