Love Aled so much!

Anonymous

i love the fact that they all consider ’hand stuff’ as sex. growing up as a queer teenager, the first time i had sex with a girl as a girl i mentioned loosing my virginity to her and she said “that was sex?”. having it reinforced that penetration is not what you have to do to loose your virginity is very refreshing. especially because most queer teenagers, wlw or mlm, don’t do penetration like hetero relationships do. thank you alice for helping out with self-acceptance and blurring the line between heteronormativity and queerness. there shouldn’t be a line defining anything because social concepts are dumb and everyone should go with what feels right to them!!

Coming back for my last read before sleep, I was struck by the subtle divergence shown between these two panels. The juxtaposition of having Charlie’s casual panel (relaxed, doing their own things, in comfy clothes, sock feet, outdoors, no direct eye contact needed, with teasing, supportive banter) that feels very appropriate for secondary school with Nick’s more formal panel (wearing school uniforms, all leaning in to talk, direct eye contact, Elle’s crossed legs, Nick’s request to visit Leeds reminiscent of a business proposal) that feels like a transition step as they work on university options feels like a peek into their future points of contention. It’s the first time I really saw what both of them are keenly aware of…Nick has to move on while Charlie has to stay. I want to celebrate everything from Sunday and I have, but these quiet differences give me pause, too.

TARAS HAIR IS SO GORGEOUS!!! 🩷

Not being from the UK, an earlier page Charlie mentioned Kent and here Nick is talking about Leeds, are they the same? Are they different? Is one closer than the other to where they are now?

The Wanton Dogfish

Kent is where they live. Nick could stay at home and go to uni. Leeds would mean moving about 200 miles away.

chloé

Kent is a county, they live in one of the towns and the University of Kent is in one of the big cities, so not exactly where they live but he could easily drive, it would be about a 45 min drive to the main campus from home. Leeds is a city in Yorkshire, in the North which would probably be about 4/5 hours away so he’d have to move

chloé

I applied to both Leeds and Kent as two of my choices and then ended up at Kent so have vague recollections of distances 😂

Dean Horn

Ok I have to say how funny it is that Charlie is the one being a lad talking about his first time with his mates and Nick is talking to his friends about Uni. 😂

A tiny imp gave me a hillarious idea. Imagine Aled dating Tara. Then we would have the younger boyfriends talk about sex while their mature partners are planning their future university career. :)

I am an OB/GYN and i teach classes about LGBTQIAP+ health to med students and i ALWAYS say that in my lectures. Ppl do not need penetration to be having sex. Girls are often considered “virgins” if they never had penetrative sex, or sex with a male 🙄🙄🙄 and that put them at risk because doctors tend to dismiss their annuals due to that fact!!! We have a looong way to go but i truly believe the new generations!

lia

tara is a lesbian and aled is gay lol. i don’t get your point.

Nils

oh dear. I am well aware about their sexualities thank you. Thats why I wrote "Imagine" The difference of the conversation topic between both groups is funny. One group is talking about sex, the other about their future. But okay I get it, my humor is a special one.
