the brief moment of anticipatory anxiety from charlie that immediately goes away once hearing jane say that 🥹 oh i love the growth. this is easily becoming my favorite volume so far just because seeing all the characters develop is so rewarding. YAY

Don’t the leaves indicate Nick+Charlie together? Maybe Nick is already there and about to surprise Charlie? That could be why he seems to have gone Radio Silence on DM’s. 🥳🤩

Charlie’s face in the second and fifth panels says it all! Ah, I’m just so in love with how this storyline has progressed. It’s can be really difficult to establish trust between a parent and a kid following a mental health crisis like what Charlie went through. With so many different emotions and fears going on, I think it’s natural for parents to want to hold on tighter. You can see that on Charlie’s face - he’s anticipating some kind of correction or even to be told to stay put. But his parents allow him the freedom and trust to go off and do his own thing - to be a teenager and do fun teenage things! They just want to know what time he’s performing so they can be supportive. And the relief and happiness on Charlie’s face as he realizes that is so lovely. It’s all so subtle, but so much is packed in there thanks to all the build up we’ve had with these characters and this storyline. I love this page.

Love this growth for Jane and Charlie so much! The subtle brightening of the background behind Charlie as he realizes his mum isn’t about to question him or get overprotective, and his expression shifts from one that looks a bit nervous to a soft smile. 💕 The Springs are going to be so proud of Charlie stepping into his confident rock star (+soon to be rock star Head Boy? 👀) era!
