This week, we review the story of that time the Christians had a song that almost reached the top 70. Seriously. It's like watching the origin story of "I'm a Little Teacup."

Eli, no matter what, you win when compared with Josh Gad..... He was in Pixels.........

Hoosier Heathen

That song is now stuck in my head. I hate my young christian self for knowing that song.

This is giving me flashbacks to my college roommate who listened to this fucking song on repeat forever. My eye is twitching.

Mercy Me is probably past Seth’s heyday but it was right in the middle of my childhood

Welp just found out that I know a relative of the main character of this movie. She went to the premiere this weekend in Texas. Small world lol

Joshua Matney

This was one of the songs that tortured me in my childhood.

Bryce

I haven't been keeping track, but at 67%, it has to be one of the highest ranked movies on rotten tomatoes that you've recapped...

Bryce

Lots of movies coming out, I guess for the Easter season? Paul Apostle of Christ is coming out this weekend, starring that guy from Person of Interest... edit: I hadn't finished the episode when I made the above statement..

John Brownell

I never knew this song existed. Now I do. I hate you.

Christopher Jared

i can only imagine how great it is to have never heard this song.

Surrounded by good music, what will my ears feel when I purge the Christian pop crap, maybe they will finally heal

Your Music Saved Us

For the pedants: I am from Texas. I've taught myself English, but some things have stuck with me from the language I was born into. In this episode Noah refers to the father throwing something as "he chunks..." That is what we say in Texas. But I've been corrected in the past that it is supposed to be "he chucks..." Anyone know the correct slang here? Also, if "chunk" is wrong, it's nice to see Noah mess up.

Jeaneene

I laughed all the way through this podcast.

Markus D

Same. I was in Catholic school and was in choir. I know WAY too many of the lyrics and it pisses me off because the music was pretty much ALL GARBAGE (except for some of the older Christmas songs).

Ada

In New Jersey we said "chuck." Chuck originated in the 1600s in England but it was incorrect slang even then: the correct form was the French "choquer," to hit something.

No yeah I get it, Heather. If your (step)dad doesn't drunkenly tell you to punch him and then knock you across the room with a return punch to the chest when you get him better than expected, how else do you learn to be a man?!

Ian from wine country

I'm not saying you should torrent this movie, I'm just saying I couldn't find it for free anywhere on the normal sites
