Oh shit, this isn't the one I was thinking it was! There's another anime from Happy Science called Laws of the Universe Part 0 that came out a few years ago involving space travel and lizard people and the dub has an absolutely amazing voice cast. I reached out to Yuri Lowenthal, who you may also know as the voice of Spider-Man in the PS4 game, who was a voice in Laws of the Universe Part 9, and he was just as confused as we are. It's up on Youtube and absolutely bonkers.

The God Eagle guy was originally called Golden Eagle. During the production a pro baseball team in Japan changed its name to The Golden Eagles, which forced the producers of this movie to switch to kinda similarly sounding word. Why ''God''? Who knows.

Ah, memories. There was a big Happy Science building -- might have even been their headquarters -- just a 10 minute walk from my campus in Tokyo. Several of us talked about paying them a visit to see what was inside, but I don't know if anyone ever did. Now I feel like I really missed out on something grand.
