Comments

Patrick Dobbins

House of the Dead. Uwe Boll masterpiece.

Thomas Muir

Perfect Sense. Though...i kinda like it.

FabricatorOfUselessUtterances

Always been a big fan of Return of the Living Dead, and Night of the Meteor. God awful in all the best ways, and full of ‘80’s goodness. Can’t argue with WW Z, though. That movie was atrocious.

Ashley Kennett

Blood Rayne, a truly terrible vampire movie but oif not as above WWZ also f'ing awful.

Scotticus Maximus

The Omega Man. Charleton Heston as a scientist, vampires who are just guys in white makeup and sunglasses, all from 1971.

George Isaac

28 days later is kind of zombie/disease

Jason King

Children of the living dead, obviously

Catt Treat

28 days later...damn rage monkeys!!!!

Erik

Mission. Impossible. 2!

Looming Dementia

World War Z!!! It's one of the most egregious abuses of source material that I've ever seen. It was even worse than the rape of the Starship Troopers novel. World War Z is one of the best zombie stories ever written, and they turned it into a brainless, fast-zombie action-flick.

Austin Howell

Cabin Fever. It's about a disease and the title fits what we're all feeling.

The Younglings Had It Coming

Original 2002 Cabin Fever, which as a child convinced me that I just didn't like movies. Also Contagion, since it's apparently the most watched movie of the year.

Michael Rops

I mean obviously World War Z

Paul Freelend

Return of the Living Dead: Necropolis (or, alternatively, Rave to the Grave). Shot back-to-back in Romania on a Sci-Fi Channel budget.

B. King

Night of the Comet

FabricatorOfUselessUtterances

Dammit, too many to choose from. I just remembered Dead Alive, too. One of the best lines ever in cinema: “I kick ass for the lord!”

Regina Calabrese

Outbreak (1995). I don't know what bet Morgan Freeman lost to wind up in this movie, but I hope he never played that game again.

Trev

Two votes for dead alive. That is angod awful movie.

OmgItsRae

Cabin Fever (2016 version)

J.H.

PLOT TWIST! I nominate M. Night Shyamalan's The Happening, because I don't want to be the only person on earth who has endured this gleaming turd of a movie. It isn't necessary about a virus, but its premise is at least as believable as Christians seem to think COVID-19 is!

Richard Steele

Alone in the Dark. Tara Reid, Christian Slater, Uwe Bole.

J.H.

You mean someone else has actually willingly watched it? Huh.

Dustin Hanson

It’s already been said, but I’ll say it again. Night of the Comet!

Kellie Linda

Dreamcatcher. They shit alien worms.

Lane woods

https://youtu.be/4XdRLd13a4M viral is a movie about a "worm" flu that makes people into zombies but all they do is spit on you. And the stupid teens decide to have a quarantine party in their suburban neighborhood

Sean Harmon

Chopper Chicks in Zombie Town... nuff said!

Ted Meadows

How about the movie Quarantine? Shaky cam docuhorror with Dexter’s sister/wife. They thought it was going to be cloverfield.

Harold Windchester

Especially when compared to the book, this film is garbage. Got my vote.

Kurt Montandon

Bonus Episode number 5, back in Nov. 2017 according to the date I downloaded it.

HidariMak

Even though there are a lot of nominations for the bastardization that is World War Z, House of the Dead gets my vote. Stupid in too many ways to mention.

Chris

Oof that's too mean. That movie might break them.

Chris

Return of the Living Dead 3: Rave to the Grave.

Dylan Cross

Zombie Strippers - it’s almost not even a real movie. But if you want a really good bad B, nay, C movie. This is where it’s at.

Evan McDonell

Look, let me sell you on a little something called “Chernobyl Diaries” What if the radiation from the Chernobyl disaster…turned people into rage zombies…radioactive rage zombies?

Evan McDonell

More like, “Double D movie,” amirite?! I will see myself out.

Nemoutopian

Because I am filled with love and mercy i think you should do Peter Jackson's Braindead/Deadalive(the unrated version). It is a fun cheesy intentionally camp movie. And i want you all to know I love you even if I do want you to do Signs and the new The Secret romantic movie.

Nemoutopian

And Signs is totally a Christian movie, you cheat us all by not doing it.

Leslie Marchant

"Planet Terror". I know what they were going for, but bitch, please. So bad. Also, an old Jennifer Tilly flick called "Impulse".

Larry

“Corona Zombies.” New picture from Full Moon. It’s an 80s Italian zombie movie called Hell of the Living Dead, itself a rip-off of the original Dawn of the Dead with some new footage and dialogue edited in.

Andrew S

Night of the Comet -or- The Stand

erin switzer

Oh I do hate the original Cabin Fever. The girl that was it drinking tea should not have gotten sick. She was drinking boiled water.

Aaron Roberto

I nominate Ernest Scared Stupid. The entire Ernest catalogue might just meet the criteria for "contagious", since it spawned many awful movies.

Nicolette

How about I Am Legend? Heath can rage over the dog...

Hot Dickson Rice

CONTAMINATION!!! This 1980 shit show is amazing!

James Ryan

Maze runner: the death cure Warm bodies For some reason I can only think of teen romance appoocalypse movies. i never saw warm bodies but I actually did watch maze runner DC with my sister in theatres, it was ok I guess.

James Ryan

Just let me know when I can nominate any of the spy kids movies or sharkboy and lavagirl. The famous Steve Buscemi quote "Does God stay in heaven because he too fears what he created?" Actually comes from spy kids 2 and if that doesn't qualify it as a religious movie it certainly makes worthy of this podcast. Honestly I wasn't going to recommend spy kids 4 because I heard it was worse than 3 and I never watched it but after learning that Robert Rodriguez was literally inspired to make the movie after watching Jessica Alba's kid take a shit how can I not recommend it.

Charles Carter

28 Days Later, while a classic there is quite a few WTF! Moments in it (The Jet fighter...the bird blood in the eye, the fact that the crows go, zombie, all of a sudden...) -OR- 28 Weeks later, because sequels always suck

Nolan B.

It has to be House of the Dead!!

Dreamcrusher

Thirteen Ghosts, the 2001 remake

Alextomcool

Dawn of the dead, 2004 remake. I hate that movie with a passion, and I want everyone else to hate it too.

Brandy McGuffey

I vote for “Night of the Comet”, of course whatever you do will be hilariously entertaining anyway!

Geoffrey T. Blackwell

Two suggestions: 2017's alien parasite movie 'Life' or CLOVID-18, aka, 'The Cloverfield Paradox.'

Geoffrey T. Blackwell

The badness of Cloverfield Paradox is made all the more fun by the face that Chris O'Dowd is the only one who realizes what kind of movie he's in.

GeekOfDoom

Yes! Thank you. I'm actually watching it right now. TWO VOTES!

Almost Wednesday

28 Weeks Later...a terrible sequel to an epic movie. The plot holes are a mile wide and there are zombies! Or Mutant Zombie Vampires From the Hood is a classic if you love B horror (and haven't seen someone get killed by a Zombie/Vampire stripper who a gives a blow job to literally die for).

TBoneSF

Diary of the Dead. George Romero tries his hand at the found footage genre and it doesn't go so well. Would love to see Eli's reaction to the dynamite-wielding Amish mute.

I’mNotSayingThat

REC itself might fit this podcast’s normal MO, given that it focuses on demon possession as a viral outbreak.

I’mNotSayingThat

People were laughing their asses off in the theater back when I saw it, it was so bad...

JD

honestly, contagion isn't even that bad... but the number of jokes about Gwyneth dying because of put things in her vagina.... i mean they write themselves...

JD

Also, you already did the best movie about Pandemics... BIRDEMIC!

Stephen Price

World War Z, great book, terrible movie

Eric Johnson

Resident Evil. The first movie. Great movie imho, but way over the top with early-2000s action movie cliches. Plus Mila Jovovich.

Looming Dementia

Is that even a zombie movie? Aren't they more like vampires? Not even that, really. Just mutants.

Looming Dementia

Absolutely. When I asked my wife, she immediately said that, too.

Mother pheasant plucker

It's a disease ridden flick. It's all about the world ending due to a super virus.

Nemoutopian

Just go with the Omega man, it is an even greater travesty of an adaption Richard Matheson's wonderful work.

tronvillain

World War Z. It's a terrible movie that was legitimately trying to be good, wasting some great source material. If you want relatively good movies, try Return of the Living Dead, The Stuff, or Dead Alive. A fun more recent one is Pontypool, which has a really unexpected way of spreading the contagion.

Mad Crow

Plan 9 From Outer Space

Patrick Carr

Season of the Witch! Nicholas Cage!

Cole

Z Nation ... ok, it’s not a movie, but it’s amazingly horrible

Jacob Hernandez

Anaconda. Jlo and ice cube try to not get eaten by big snakes. How can you not love that?

Venture Free McGee

I became a $2 patron (edit: upgrade from $1) specifically so I could nominate... nothing. I got nothing. I'm not a huge fan of the genre, but I figured you could use the extra buck per episode. But since I'm here anyway, I guess... um... Resident Evil: Apocalypse? Because hurk. Sorry, I just threw up a little. Anyway, Milla Jovovich is pretty.

Michael Stevens

Resident Evil II. It is the epitome of the hot chick action movie even more than the first. Also the cliche black comic relief.

A.J.

House of the Dead. Zombie movie based on a video game and all sorts of terrible.

Zeronian Entity

any resident evil movie.....cgi ones are better and cononical

Jan Cerny

Have you done "Signs," by M. Night Shyamalan? Some great performances wasted on the most idiotic alien invasion ever done. Another hydrophobic alien movie to consider is "Alien Nation." Besides the eye-rolling titular pun, it has the same scientific illiteracy when it comes to alien vulnerabilities (if water with salts in it dissolves Newcomer flesh, how does Mandy Patinkin drink milk, however sour?); in addition, it wastes the Newcomer partner, making him ineffectual at every turn.

Anne the transwoman

Ok, you gotta try bio zombie, it's a Hong Kong mall zombie from the 90s. It's baaaaaaad, 😂😁

Looming Dementia

Right there with you, on Signs. It definitely counts as a half-assed Christian movie. It was my first horrible M. Night experience, as he started falling apart. Sixth Sense, Unbreakable; looks like we have an amazing new writer/director on our hands ... wait, what the fuck just happened? And again? What happened to this guy? Sadly, it doesn't really fit the suggested theme here. They could probably get away with doing it for a regular episode, though. I'll have to shoot them an email. And seriously, fuck Mel Gibson. We didn't know what a raging, psycho zealot he was at the time, but he was just beginning to reveal himself. He had the balls to go on Colbert and say that he didn't think that he should be judged on one mishap, when he accidentally said something antisemitic to that cop. I don't even care that much about that incident, Mel. What I care more about is your long history of the craziest religious zealotry. Oh, and the girlfriends that you've beaten the shit out of, at least one of them badly enough to break multiple of her teeth. The only movie of his that I can stand to watch anymore is Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome. Christ, that's an awesome movie.

Looming Dementia

True. I suppose that works, yeah. Kind of. I wouldn't say it's really about the disease itself, but kind of.

Looming Dementia

Note to add, long after the fact: Brad, what happened, man? I love you, and I love most of your work, but ... Christ, man. Why?!?

Maggi Messer

Please do Warm Bodies. It's a Romeo and Juliet story but with Zombies it's hilarious :D
