I really didn't think it could be this bad.

I'll be honest I remember liking this film But I think it should. It's been split. Save cheetah for the third film

Nate B

That's Numberwang! Let's rotate the board!

Henry Arndt

Wow! I love this review, especially how badly the movie failed at the Monkey’s Paw. I remember when I was little, I read a kid’s book called Sylvester and the Magic Pebble. The plot is eerily similar to everything having to do with the Wishing Rock in this movie, down to having a character wish he could turn into a rock. Except, in the book, Sylvester (an anthropomorphic donkey child) realizes how monumentally stupid it was to wish he was a rock and thinks of so many better wishes he could have used instead. Sylvester and the Magic Pebble is so much better than WW84. Yikes!

Zach Van Stanley

What does her being in the military have to do with her language skills?

Zach Van Stanley

I could see this as a reason she would know a language, but here it seems to just be a thing you like about her.

Mr Pudifoot

This is the weirdest Wishmaster sequel ever!

George Watts

I legit love both wonder woman movies but still love the review.

Gina Pazienza

I think DC doesn't want to make a good movie

Rob McCullough

2:22:23 You couldn’t cut one second out?

Patrick Carr

I haven’t seen it yet, but loved the first one. Is this Superman IV bad?

Andy Gonzalez

I don't like Gadot and I really did not like this movie.

Grant Cosper

Not that bad, more Superman III bad

Chris

I'm only 50 mins in and Eli's Gal Gadot impression has me in stitches.

Patrick Carr

Got it. Bugs the shit out of me bad, not claw my eyes out bad. Thanks.

CarrieBoo

I hated this movie. It haunts my nightmares. Also I had keep picking my eyes off the floor from all the rolling.

Geoffrey T. Blackwell

Holy crap you guys did the impossible. I want to watch this movie again just to catch all the stuff you pointed out that I didn't slot on my first viewing. And I spotted a LOT on my first viewing. Well done. Thank you so much.

Danielle Kemmer

Thank you so much!!! Not since Batman v Superman have I been so happy to listen to your breakdown a movie. It provides a catharsis for the 2+ hrs I wasted trying watch this movie.

Rhonda Peyrot

How about you guys review The Fifth Element? I had never before seen a Bruce Willis movie I couldn't sit through. I mean, I seriously have the hots for this guy.

Danielle Kemmer

Also you guys totally missed out on mentioning best/worst attempt to make a sympathetic Donald Trump-esque character. This guy is a constantly failing up scam artist who eventually almost causes the world to devolve into WWIII. It terrified/pissed me off how sympathetic the movie tried to make the villainous asshole simply because he only neglected his child.

Markus D

What is the movie that Noah mentions at the end that he thinks won't have another made of because people didn't see it!? (Just before they talk about Godzilla.)

Kyle

Ok, but when are we getting Justice League?

Matt Eldritch

Is there somewhere where I can play all the other Patreon exclusive episodes? I tried finding it here but there's too much to scroll through and when I try filters, I can only find maybe two episodes.

Niamh Coghlan

Can we have a skit where Eli's Gal Gadot talks to Eli's Melania?

lf

The magic of Kristen Wiig just escapes me. I thought her portrayal of yet another awkward character was a yet another problem with the film.

Makin' do.

I mean if we can make random wishes and this was the '80s there would be a lot of people wishing for like Reagan to be gone and for AIDS to not be a thing.

S. Shange

With you all the way on that one, G. Watts.

Ian from wine country

When I was working through back catalog, I would use this page and go through month by month so I didn't have to scroll through years of shit every time the browser reloaded.

Ian from wine country

They fixed it. I would have forgiven them if they held it til groundhog day because of it, as well

Marcus

Haven’t seen this yet, not that I need to. Where did the crew watch it for the episode?

Scott Lesch

"Well Actually"...... part of the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum is at Washington Dulles International Airport.

Tim, Yes that Tim - the social media guy

Matt, the easiest way is to just search for the episode by name. Patreon isn’t very user-friendly. Here is a handy list. Enjoy. The politics of this movie are so weirdly centrist yet almost childishly obnoxious at the same time.

Matt Eldritch

Slip up when Noah said the sixth sense and not unbreakable. I did like the second new Godzilla movie when you actually saw more monster fighting. This episode was really good, but shows to me that it's impossible to point out all the stupid shit in this movie. I wrote this 3 times trying to point out more but it was just too long. The first WW movie was okay, and it was definitely the best of the recent DC hero movies, but this movie was steaming shit. The fight scenes were garbage which is always great for an action movie. The idea that she could get everyone to renounce their wishes was the least realistic plot point I'd ever heard, and if Max Lord got to choose what he was taking he could've just removed one persons morality and made them too selfish to have it undone.

El Oso Café

I'm confused. I've been told the only conceivable reason anyone would criticize this movie is because they universally hate women.

Joey Roberson-Kitzman

Eh. It wasn’t that bad of a movie. It wasn’t that good of a movie. Very mediocre. I don’t understand the extreme hate/love of the movie.

Andrew Nielsen

So, the radar thing maybe makes sense if you assume invisibility is just non-interaction with electromagnetic radiation (in which case a flashlight would also shine through the invisible jet), since radio waves are just a different place on the spectrum...but as soon as the movie does anything that forces you to think through how the powers are supposed to work it's fucking itself over, since nothing in it makes sense when you start thinking about it.

JadeWaya4187

Someone in 2016 wished for an outsider to be president.

VeganDanimal

Love Noah's shade on Zack Snyder - the fact that his response to this film getting bad reviews was to release a picture of "his" Wonder Woman carrying the severed heads of her enemies to prove how much *better* his version would have been just proves how much worse this could have been if he'd been left with more control over the DC movies, and considering how much of an ongoing car crash they are, that's truly incredible.

Patrick Carr

I love the idea of the script as an Exquisite Corpse exercise.

Patrick Carr

Got it! Diana making the jet invisible is this movie’s equivalent to Superman throwing the S shield at Zod’s crew and sticking to them.

Markus D

What's up with everyone saying "Gal Gadot" like her name is French? She says the "T". Same with you guys saying "Maxwell Lord" like his last name is "Lourdes" half the time. Just thought it was funny!

Markus D

Never forget that Zack Snyder wanted Batman to be raped in prison because edgy.

Markus D

I hear SO MUCH praise for The Fifth Element and I really don't get it. Leeloo and Ruby Rhod are insufferable characters.

Markus D

Matt Eldritch, that doesn't necessarily seem like a contradiction. A lot of centrism strikes me as a kind of childish "Can't we all just get along and ignore our problems with others rather than actually solve them?"

Markus D

It definitely feels like it when almost all of their movies are mediocre or worse...

Brandon Hall

Caught a bullet backwards with a lasso that was moving away from her while she was also on a moving vehicle, drafted on an airplane through the air, swung across lightning but magic wish wind? That’s the line for what her lasso can break physics for.

Brandon Hall

My wife and I regularly watch the movie of the week on Lifetime network. That being said, WW84 was the worst movie I’ve ever seen.

Kidda Sweet

Look, the movie was painful, and this was fun... but I have to say Gal Gadot walking in that white dress slid my Kinsey scale.

Brandon Hall

Right and the bright side is that it was hilarious bad not sad bad. DC gave my wife and I hours of Christmas unintentional laughter

Darkladi

I donkey-laughed so hard, I pulled something in my back

DaMonaLeisa

Could someone possibly tell me how to get this to stitcher Because I'm an idiot apparently

Marcus

Wait, what was the film Noah said he’d seen once and loved? I missed the title during the episode and only caught them discussing in the bonus stuff. [EDIT] I see now someone says it’s Tenet. Sweet, been saving that one 🙂

Jack

Stitcher doesnt appear to support rss feeds. I had to use google podcast to use mine

DaMonaLeisa

Thank you I thought that might be the case But wasn't sure

Makin' do.

Okay here's this thing that's been stuck in my head since I saw the movie. In Wonder woman 1984 everyone gets to wish for what they want to wish for that means that at least one black person in America wish for racism to not exist. There's no way they didn't. With that in mind how the hell did she get everyone to get rid of their wishes? There is nothing that would work to make me undo that wish if I knew it could happen.

zolgheim

The WW1 pilot being able to fly a fucking fighter jet is so stupid on so many levels. I wish that scene was like, he gets in the cockpit all serious looking, starts fiddling around with the buttons like he knows what he's doing... then starts crying his eyes out "I HAVE NO IDEA HOW ANY OF THIS WORKS! WHAT ARE ALL THESE BUTTONS AND GAUGES FOR? BACK IN MY DAY FIGHTER PLANES WERE JUST STRAPPING AN ENGINE AND A GUN TO A BIG KITE!"

pjf

WW84 is pretty terrible, but the first movie is still my second-favorite superhero movie in which a guy named Steve saves the day by crashing a stolen German plane full of WMDS during a world war, sacrificing his own life, only to return several decades later.

The Viking Paratrooper

Nothing like 3 grown men making fun of a person for ESL. She literally trained people to kill for a living before modeling and acting.

The Viking Paratrooper

And... as Eli explains Maxwell Lord, I realized he doesn't know as much as he pretends. Kilg%re.... Maxwell Lord has abilities in the comics...

Michelle C

I am also raising my hand as someone who absolutely loved this movie. I rated it 8/10 and it got 59% on Rotten Tomatoes. I’m really surprised they think this movie is or should be universally hated. This and the first WW were easily the best in the entire DCEU to date, followed by Aquaman.

Michelle C

I loved WW84. I also loved the Matrix sequels. PIAT Pod, AMA lol.

Von Flooferton

What's the monkeys paw drawback for that wish, do you just get the ending of attack on titan? No racism because there's no races now?

Denise Huston

"Wonderang" made me think of Numberwang so thanks for that
