The thing that probably disturbed me the most about this movie was the actions of the Love Interest. I see what they were going for. It was supposed to be like in the Hunger Games when Peeta makes an alliance with the career tributes to protect Katniss. The thing is, the Hunger Games is future dystopia and Peeta’s actions were justified. This movie is supposed to be set in the real world. I know Love Interest, in the movie’s narrative, is trying to protect Zoe but he willingly allows himself to live stream the shooting and does everything in his power to make it look good. He takes initiative to suggest a Q and A for crying out loud!!!!! In the real world, he would be criminally charged at least as an accessory after the fact to MASS MURDER. In TEXAS! He wouldn’t get out, entirely correctly too. And this is celebrated in Ben Shapiro’s shit manifesto movie.

I actually liked parts of this movie, the message was fucking crazy and the shooters are way over the top and it’s a die hard rip off but still there are moments. Like when she’s about to knock the nerd shooter in the head then her phone gives her away and she just nopes out of there in one smooth motion, that was good. The main actress was damn solid and honestly it wasn’t that bad relatively speaking until the last scene were she turns into Jackson from saving private ryan, the fuck was that.

Dragged Across Concrete isn't a propaganda film. It does have Mel Gibson, who is a terrible person, but the film itself is a noir "everyone is fucking terrible" movie. It has a scene of police brutality that sets up the movie, but if the entire movie is watched, the behavior isn't condoned or championed. I don't normally comment like this, but Cara was very wrong and the director makes actually critically successful movies, not right-wing trash. ***spoilers below**** ***spoilers below*** The protagonist of the movie is an African American parolee, not the racists cops. The shit racist cops, including the character played by Mel Gibson die terrible deaths and are shown repeatedly to be horrible people.

Bone Tomahawk was incredible! And we've seen so few western horror movies , it was a fun surprise. Shocked the hell out of me in places. A nice slow burn with some great acting.

I’m from a small town in Oregon where there was a mass college shooting. Everybody LOVES guns here. And everybody has and had guns on them. But instead of shooting the shooter at the college, they were afraid they would get shot by police. Aka- having guns in a town where everybody has trucks that say “oregunian” did not prevent 10 or 11 people from dying and many more getting massively injured.

I don't think her point was that there are NO non-white or female school shooters. that's like saying there are NO school shooters in other countries/cultures. Yeah, female shooters exist. yeah, non-white school shooters exist. But in America the vast majority of school shooters are cis, white, narcissistic male right-leaning assholes.

Yeah or getting mistaken for the shooter and shot by another rando with a gun. People watch action movies and think good guy/bad guy is just super obvious. Look at all the unintentional blue on blue in war zones (not the turncoat incidents). And they are trained over and over NOT to do that. Every US tank lost in Desert Storm was friendly fire, and those things look absolutely nothing like the various Russian models Saddam had (completely different lines even in lowlight or infra). That should be the easiest blue on blue to avoid and it still happened several times. Someone just saw part of a tank and shot it before confirming their target. Turns out in a fight most dont think all that clearly when they are scared and trying to survive. Now imagine a bunch of untrained civilians pulling their guns and looking for the shooter... Good thing they didnt do that or there would be even more dead. More guns is just not the answer to gun violence. The whole good guy with a gun argument for guns everywhere is maddening. Oddly enough you dont see Republican politicians advocating for open carry in congress much... it's like they actually know it's a stupid idea or something.

This is a tangent, but I’ve seen The Undoing, and while Nicole Kidman is a good actress, whatever decisions she made in that show were awful. My wife and I were convinced she was a villain because she acted like one the whole time. It was confusing as shit. Also that show is duuuuuumb and awful

I guess it depends on what we consider a school shooting. We have cases going back to the 1800's if we just consider a shooting that took place in a school. We don't start to see mass or even multiple shootings until the guns were more advanced, but there are a lot of single shots, shots at teachers, jilted lovers shooting each other at school, etc. Joy. Statistically though, going back even to the 1800's. 9 times out of 10, you're looking for the straight white cis male. Women do tend to be "close-up" killers, poisons, etc., and guns just aren't the main weapon of choice.
