This week, Frank and Dan from "Thank God I'm Atheist" join us in celebration of their 500th episode.

Look up purity ring proposals. That's some major daddy/daughter ick vibes. Edit: 1:30 they actually did one. Ew. I had a purity ring as a teen. No creepy proposal, though.

Eli is too well behaved for having no babysitters. Noah probably edited the hell out of this episode. I'd love to hear the unedited version!

I sometimes wish Dan was my dad too.

Amy Baloo

Aww. I liked the typo.

thank you so much for doing this movie. Years ago my family had a religious group therapist and she got us to watch this movie together, and I've been waiting for you to do this one for years

Softwhisper

I watched this with my religious mom years ago. No spoilers, but she mst3ked the last third. By the end of it she apologized for the movie.

Kudos to Frank and Dan that not only were they not just sitting back drinking Champagne on TGIA 500 (congratulations btw), but they showed up for GAM Jury Duty the same week!

So here's a fun question to think about. If the pitch Christians use to try and convert us is their "solid moral foundation", why do they spend so much time trying to fake up worse ones and then convince OTHER christians about how much more moral it'd make them? Rhetorical question.... But y'know...

"Celebrate" is a weird choice of word for coming on GAM, but congrats to them anyways.

Regarding funeral sermons, to paraphrase the peacher at my father's funeral, "I always asked him if he was ready to accept Jesus, and I think he might've said yes over the phone while dying. So, maybe he's not in hell. He loved his chihuahuas."

Markus D

Don't bring a preacher to a funeral, evidently!

You know, it’s… comforting? That you mention the dad’s pervy dance with his daughter. Recently went to my nephew’s wedding where the word “obey” was said to the bride no less that 12 times and during the dances at the reception, the father/daughter dance was… UPSETTING! I’m glad I’m not the only one to notice these things. I seriously needed to be drunk to get through it but my family are prohibitionists to boot.

I seriously think the Kendrick brothers listen to GAM. Took Eli’s homework assignment and read the IMDB trivia. In one entry, they boast that a speech had to be done 12 times to the same crowd to get it right. Weird flex on its own, but makes sense when you think about all of the times the GAM crew has accused them of refusing to do multiple takes.
