This week, Cecil joins us to roast review the third and final installment of the Atlas Shrugged movie trilogy. You MUST be wondering how bad the kompromat is that we're using to blackmail him into doing ALL THREE of these movies.

Markus Nävergård

i re-relistened to this trilogy today. 1. if they would to stay true tot heir oath of selfishness, they would sell out the secret compound and John galt for money. 2. the fact that Dagny goes to save John negates Ayn Rands philosophy. Dagny should ahve elft him, because helping him is not a selfish act. 3. Make a remake of this shit BUT the twist is that it is a reversal. and the all the billionairs and CEO´s are sent away and the rest of the world can prosper without them. Like i Said when jeff bezos went into space " i am not mad he went to space, i am mad he came back"

Markus Nävergård

as i revisted this and the citation needed on the book. it struck me, yes the book uses the classic image of Atlas holding up the world, billionairs seeing them selves as Atlas, shouldering the world, But Atlas did not hold up the world, he held up the sky. He stood on earth and held up nothing

Timothy Lehnerer

I was hoping that would be the entirety of this movie. Shaky handheld camera (because the filmmakers STILL hadn't figured out tripods) on John Galt yelling at everyone for 97% of the movie's run time. Would have been LEGENDARILY bad. Not like this WASN'T, but you know.

General Contact Unit Problem Child

it really pissed me off when the Dagny was appalled by the idea of nationalising the railroad. Trains are a natural monopoly (you can't have multiple trains competing on the same line) so they really should be nationalised.

Patrick Carr

The Superfriends narrator was Ted Knight (Ted Baxter.)

Lauren W

Okay, so I narrate audiobooks for a living and got curious. Galt's shitty speech is about 32,000 words long. The average rate of audiobook narration is 9,300 words per hour. That speech is just shy of three and a half hours long. Imagine standing there for three and a half hours while some asshole talks at you non-stop.

Seth F.

Atlas Shrugged is about a clandestine group of powerful and wealthy elites orchestrating the collapse of the Western World by flouting the established law & order and undermining the efforts of popularly elected governments. They need a cool name... something like: The Deep State

Suzanne August

A better name would be the Republican Party.

Mikelle Cagle

I’m kinda disappointed that they didn’t show Cherryl’s suicide. From what I recall, she learns her husband only married her to appear charitable. She says something like, “You chose me, not for my strengths, but for my weaknesses?!?” Then she runs out of the house screaming, “Not of your world!” And tosses herself off a cliff.

Dreamcrusher

These Atlas Shrugged podcasts have been some of my favorite stuff you guys have ever done. Had to listen to the citation needed Atlas Shrugged episode right after finishing the third one to keep the high going. Thank you so much for the laughs and your suffering.

Ian from wine country

When the Gazpacho breaks into the magic motor room, it was booby trapped to self destruct if you didn't recite the assholes creed before opening the door. Those weren't feathers, they were ashes and cinders.

Hal Boldercrest

That is amazing xD You have uncovered a new layer of terrible in this rotten onion of a story

Wandering_Idiot

Probably the same kompromat that Eli has on Andrew. I’m glad I didn’t know Eli in High School or else I’d be having to fake smile my way through God’s Not Dead #27.

Kristine VanRaalte

Eli and Heath are so funny but sometimes Noah makes me nearly piss myself laughing.

Kristine VanRaalte

A true libertarian would have sold out John Galt. (Wink, nod)

Molly Jane Cyr

I always knew OF this book but never actually knew anything about it except it made several people I went to college with who were already assholes turn into Super Assholes.

Ilan Woll

I can’t believe Joel Fleischman from Northern Exposure is Reardon

I CUT ROCKS (edited)

2026-09-08 12:00 I want to point out that Rand's idea for a generator that pulls static electricity from the surrounding environment is an actual concept, HOWEVER... the technology is currently illegal because it pulls from stuff like radio waves AKA those fantastic untapped energy resources that our communications methods (especially emergency bands) depend on. . It also doesn't produce a hell of a lot of energy, and you can't differentiate between frequencies so you're essentially doing the polar opposite of jamming all communications. So... gain a little bit of "Free energy" at the cost of... all modern instantaneous communication. Free market your way out of that.

I was behind a car with a "who's John Galt" bumper sticker today...

Eric Prebys

Barely. He's not really in the movie. He's only shown in B&W stills during a montage, and there's one weird phone conversation which sounds like it's patched together from other dialog.

Eric Prebys

That's not "static electricity", it's EM waves (big difference). For example, a crystal radio gets its power directly from radio waves, but there's not enough energy in radio transmissions to be useful unless you're very close to the transmitter; however you can "harvest" energy from power lines in this way. It's illegal for the simple reason that you're getting something without paying for it (it's also a good way to electrocute yourself). Of course, none of these things are a *source* of energy, just away to bleed power off of other sources. Rand's concept of just pulling electrical energy out of the environment violates several laws of physics.
