This week, Marsh joins us for a movie that's way too ignorant to use the title "Knowing."

Comments

Lugubrious Pixie Nightmare

Sorry for being weird and commenting on a really old comment, but kudos and thanks for reminding me of that book!

Bobby Tropicana

I unironically love this movie. Nic Cage's reaction to the big reveal at the end is probably one of the most genuine dumbfounded expressions in cinema history. So glad y'all did this one.

Jeb Dale

I "Know" what I'll be doing next! Eh? Ehhhh?! Did ya get it?!? I'm sorry I'll show myself out.

Corey Floyd

Is this not showing up in the feed or is it just me?

Corey Floyd

Odd pocket casts still has not updated

Scott W. Davis

As someone who has hated this bleak, faith-based claptrap since the theater, thank you.

Happyninja42

Hey random question but did the gang actually ever do Kirk Cameron Saves Xmas? I know it's the artwork for the patreon version of the podcast, but I never could seem to find it in the listing of episodes. Am I just blind or is it something they haven't actually tackled?

Corey Floyd

Yea i see it on Podcast Republic but not on Pocket Casts, I guess just need wait for it

Alex Watts

I remember watching this for the first time not knowing it was shot in Melbourne until one of my friends yelled WAIT ISN'T THAT THE MELBOURNE MUSEUM. Also, convoluted fun-ish fact, I dated the ex husband of the woman originally offered to be Rose Byrne's body double. Tough fucking act following a woman that hot.

Alex Watts

I can't believe you guys didn't mention that the MIT classroom featured Liam Hemsworth's screen debut, because he was a student at Camberwell High where it was filmed. And also that girl from Wheel of Time.

Kitsunelaine

Guys, I swear-- you need to do a vibrator-themed Adam & Eve ad using the Quip ad copy.

Denise Huston

OK, all the talking about ominous rocks made me think of the shitty space horror movie Apollo 18.

Happyninja42

Ah, interesting. So it was a "god awful mini" basically? Or did they devote an entire episode to ripping that thing apart?

Denise Huston

What good would the little boy's prophecy do after everyone is dead? Feels like after the sun kills all life on earth, there's not much left to prophecy about.

Barbara Forrest-Ball

If you're feeling down or having a bad day, (1) listen to a GAMcast, (2) replay Heath's laughter several times. Guaranteed you'll feel better!

CmdrPherret

If Marsh hadn't suggested this a while back I'd think it was some sort of KnowledgeFight crossover since Dan was professing his love of this movie a month ago...

Danial Gibson

I might by bias, but no prophecies beat those of Agnes Nutter. Always right and not impossible to decode.

Panzer

I watched this movie in 2009 and it messed with my head because like, there's possibly a good movie in there somewhere, until it takes that really sudden left turn off a cliff about 2/3rds through.

Ian from wine country

It was the segment that justified bringing Eli on full time and starting GAM as a show. So, not technically a mini because the main GAM didn't exist yet

Mark

I love you, Heath, but we are officially fighting now because you praised Cadbury Eggs, which are disgusting. Kinder Eggs are far superior, but you might not know that because they are banned by the US government. Apparently they will protect kids from a chocolate egg, but not an assault rifle. Ask Marsh to buy you a few for QED. Just don’t bring them home, because importing them is illegal too.

Stella

I saw this movie with my church group as a teenager and didn't remember it until the end of the episode! I guess I must've blocked it out. 🤷‍♂️

SadPanda

I was thinking while listening to this "Hey, this movie sounds a lot like the premise of the excellent Arthur C. Clarke novel Childhood's End." I looked up what else some of the cast has been in, and found out that the little girl, who evidently pulled double duty as both Abby and Lucinda, was in a SyFy production of Childhood's End. Seems like she may be a little typecast.

TenaciousB

Cadbury eggs are the very best candy. How dare you.

Markus D

You can say whatever you want about Cadbury eggs, but Kinder Eggs are a garbage chocolate product because there's very little chocolate and the toy inside has never been something I've wanted to keep, even as a child. It's such a wasteful product, filling the world with unnecessary plastic shit like dollar store toys.
