so I'm sure you guys talk about this, but there's a scene where a pastor is dressing a child in "baptism robes" and it made me so uncomfortable, like its implied the (non puppet) children are naked underneath. like if you're not like their father I'm suspicious of grown men dressing little boys.

About Zaccheus: John's gospel is pretty emphatic about Zaccheus being short. He literally says he was too short to see Jesus through the crowd, so he climbed a fucking tree which is where Jesus saw him and invited him down. Also, a tax collector for the Roman Empire is more like mob guys shaking down a business for mob protection, especially because tax collectors often took more taxes than necessary and were notorious embezzlers.

I was walking my dog as I listened to this, so I can only imagine the picture I presented to the neighbors as I wheezed with laughter and crossed my legs to avoid peeing on the street. Also I agree with Cecil that potlucks are the fucking worst. At my job "potluck" means "stop at Kwik Trip and buy a box of cookies and/or donuts". Terrible. I always pack myself an especially excellent lunch on potluck days.

Yeah, I definitely learned he was short when I learned that story. We had a fucking song about how short he was that we sang in Sunday school.

So Mormon kids at least wear underwear underneath. I learned this from a VERY uncomfortable episode of the How-to Heretic where the hosts described participating in those substitute baptisms as kids. The worst part is you apparently dont get to wear your own. The underwear is borrowed from the church.
