Ok so, just to be that person, I gotta say: 1) during a hurricane, EMS is not coming. You’re on your own till the storm passes and maybe longer if roads are trashed. 2) if the storm is strong enough to knock a tree through a roof, one should not pack up the family and get in the car. You’ll all die for sure. The real pain in the ass about hurricanes is they’re chock full of tornadoes, high waters, and down power lines. 3) if hurricane = likely no nearby hotel rooms available. 🌪️

My first thought was an armadillo is the opposite of a puzzle. As to the bathtub, during a hurricane/tornado you are supposed to hide in the bathroom, as it tends to have one door and zero windows, so it's the most structurally sound room, tubs tend to be metal boxes on 5 sides, so again, nicely reinforced in case the building collapses. The top is obviously open, but it's still your best option in a lot of houses. (especially with a tornado where you don't have the few days of warning hurricanes tend to have, and have to act fast) *I have no idea if any of that is actually true, but that's what I was taught as a kid.

When I was a kid in Florida, we were taught bathtub with a mattress pulled over the top. Here in northern Wisconsin, when they announce a tornado warning we go out on the porch and look for the wall cloud.

I hope you guys read this, you probably get tons of messages about how your podcasts brighten people's days and I just need to tell you my mini story of woe and thank you once again for being an awesome distraction. I gave birth 4 days ago with a few crazy complications along the way, just back home out of hospital and feeling utterly shelll shocked (but with a happy healthy baby!). Today, thanks to my husband I have been able to snatch a few minutes here and there to just feel normal and put on your show. In a few places I've endangered my stitches by stifling my laughter, but it's great to join in on all the silliness. Thank you Noah, Heath and Eli! Obviously if I'd looked into the Secret before I could have avoided all my unforseen complications by just thinking right!! 🤔 All the best from Northern Ireland.
