Some myths say Zeus ruled Olympus with lightning.

Others claim he reshaped fate with thunderbolts hurled from the heavens.

The truth, as always, is a little more… intimate.

In this new Miss Match MicroFic, Zeus notices something rare among mortals — beauty, cunning, and a spark that doesn’t belong to the earthbound. When he brings her to Mount Olympus, she reminds him (quite reasonably) that mortals are forbidden from walking among the gods.

Zeus, of course, agrees.

Rules are rules.

Which is why he chooses a method of elevation that is far older, far more personal, and—according to certain very old stories—famously overwhelming.

Historians would later write about thunderbolts.

Miss Match would remember the part they never wrote down.
