We really thought we’d be safe this week… no horror, right? WRONG. 😭🔥

The Hunger Games hit us HARD: brutal, heartbreaking, and honestly made us so angry at how unfair that world is. The injustice, the pressure, the way these kids are forced into it… it’s just messed up.

And Katniss?? She is EVERYTHING. 🏹❤️ Strong, smart, and fearless. We’re already obsessed.

This movie shook us more than we expected… what did YOU guys think?? 👀

Great first intro to the Hunger Games franchise! Need Hunger Games Catching Fire expeditiously! It’s up there with The Dark Knight in entertainment for me. I can’t wait for you ladies to experience it and the rest. You ladies are not ready. #Team Peeta & Katniss🤍🤍

Think of The Games as punishment for the Districts for rebelling against the Capitol.

Luis Garcia

People don't resist out of fear. As you saw, the capital has a lot of technology, and they have an army. As you saw with District 11, when people started rebelling, they sent troops to deal with the rebellions. Countries with dictators that rule with such a powerful dictatorship often suppresses resistance with crushing military force. The hope that President Snow was talking about is the idea that even if they take some of their children for the Hunger Games, there's a chance they survive. Most children never get chosen, and when they pass 18, they are no longer eligible. So it gives people the possibility that they might make it without getting chosen. There probably have been some families that have fought back when their child gets taken, but they are probably beaten and possibly killed. If you think about Ba Sing Se from Avatar, people lived in fear of the Dai Li. They usually don't speak out because they know and fear retaliation from the government.

Yeah, after this movie we’re really starting to understand how terrifying the world of The Hunger Games actually is.
