Elsa — Halo, Wings, and the Balcony at Midnight (424 photos) (Patreon)

The full moon hung heavy over Arendelle’s towers, silvering the stone rail and turning the fjord to black glass. Elsa had not meant to grow wings. They had come with the thaw—black, broad, and warm against her back—and the thin ring of light that now hovered above her braid. She had left the ice gown in the closet and put on black lace instead: a sheer bra with floral mesh, a matching brief held by thin straps, long glossy sleeves that ended in open palms, and stockings with scalloped tops. The halo stayed. So did the wings.
She was on the balcony when he found her, kneeling on the cushioned ledge with her hands on the rail and her braid falling over one shoulder. The lace across her hips had shifted. She did not fix it. One wing was half-spread; the other rested along the stone. Moonlight caught the sheen on her skin and the small bows at the straps. She looked back over her shoulder, blue eyes bright, the corner of her mouth lifted.
“The castle is asleep,” she said, voice low. “I wanted the cold air on me without the ice.”
He stepped closer. The halo brightened a fraction. Elsa shifted her weight, the sheer panel at her hip sliding, and let one hand leave the rail so she could rest it on the cushion beside her knee.
“The wings are new,” she added, almost idle. “They come and go. Tonight they stayed.” She tilted her head, braid brushing the lace at her waist. “If you’re going to stand there, at least come where I can reach you. The moon is high, and I have no intention of putting the dress back on.”
Outside, the fjord lapped the rocks. On the balcony, she stayed where she was—knees apart, wings open just enough to make room—and waited for him to take the loose end of the strap at her hip.
