Rewatching this has had an unanticipated reaction on me. In that as soon I saw what Delphine was watching on the “picture box”, it made me miss the Obama years so much I almost cried. What I’d give for us to go back to those years. Or better yet have them now. And how when I first watched this series, there was so much hope and unity then, and a true sense that things were changing for the better as a country and a people. Now looking back, I mourn that time. We never dreamed things could be like they are now. It’s like waking from a beautiful dream, only to enter a living nightmare. A place where hope is ever so dim, and I fight to hold on to it. Not trying to get political but this comment is more about my own personal feelings, not politics itself. Ok I’m tearing up again, gotta go.

I can relate so hard. 💔 It really was simpler times. I was in high school when this season aired.. I can remember watching the premier just like it was yesterday but it feels like a lifetime ago at the same time..😭 Back then i thought my life was going to play out SO different than it did. It seemed to feel more like we were all in this together even though things weren't perfect. We could actually afford groceries and to live back then. Its crazy. You are not alone in that feeling, fellow Pumpkin! 🫶

This has been a rewatch for me as well as you guys. On this rewatch I was bothered by the way Misty straddled Kyle and ripped open his shirt. I never noticed a there could be a theme with the character Kyle fighting for his autonomy. Like with people not treating his body as his own. Not that I don’t like Misty as a character at all. She is complex as well.
