This was a remake of the original movie (1950s, I think). It was filmed in black and white, Vincent Price was in it, if I remember correctly. It had its own disturbing moments, and he looked more like an actual fly. I do not recommend watching the sequel to the Cronenberg version. I watched it years ago, and the memories from a few scenes still resurface.

Omg I died laughing! I'm glad you had fun with this but also are you okay? My partner was overhearing like "See there is something wrong with you!" You have to admit there's brief Jeff Goldblum bod to appreciate, though he's not a rootable character. I always kind of viewed his narrative as the genius with no social skills/god complex that gets wildly out of hand as he gains more power - genius and assholery turning into madness and villainy. Watching this again along with you I'm seeing how Gina Davis could have given a lot more. I really think that was just the intense/sexy vibe of the mid 80s cinema haha. Personally I love it for the camp and the practical effects <3 Thanks (and sorry)!

Lolol we are not okay but we hopefully will be someday 😂🙈 definitely understand the appreciation for this movie and the Oscar win for the makeup is really cool! And yeah looking back the Seth character is actually really interesting and tragic--I think knowing that would probably make this viewing experience a little different on a rewatch! Hope you're having the best weekend! 🥰

Yes, the chemistry was def there.. Jeff and Geena were married IRL from '87-'91.

Yes.. I think that Jeff Goldblum is sexy. I’m also a little obsessed with serial killers. I’m sure that a psychiatrist would have a field day with me. 🤣

Wow! What a reaction! So visceral, so repulsed! I wonder what everyone's motivation really was when choosing this movie for yall to watch but dayum! Definitely one of my top fav reaction from you guys!! It really showed how disturbed and horrified you both were while watching this. This is a classic one for sure. Body horror is tough to stomach for sure especially Cronenburg body horror! Also at 33:45. Dead. XD. Thanks for another entertaining reaction watching with you two!

When I was in college I worked as a medical assistant in an infectious disease physician’s practice. This Dr., originally from India, was very strait laced and ultra professional and did not seem to partake in any joking around in the office. With one exception: if a fly ever got into our waiting room and he noticed it, he’d announce to us three staff “Brundlefly is in the waiting room, and he does NOT have an appointment.” 🤣 If you had seen this Dr, three piece Armani suits, not a hair out of place, drove a Porsche among other vehicles, you’d never expect in a million years that he could make a sardonic joke in reference to The Fly of all things; but that just goes to show the reach of this seminal visionary classic and cultural milestone in the category of science fiction and body horror filmmaking. The first time I heard Dr. V say it, he caught me so off guard that I spit my coffee onto my desk, and cough laughed to the bathroom. All three of us were dying laughing 😂 To which he calmly added “no wonder Brundlefly has come to this office, there is coffee on the desk”. Sometimes People, well, they’ll surprise the hell out of you…what’s rarer still is that the surprise will be about a good thing. Cause as it turned out, our very well attired and put together Dr. actually had a fantastic sense of humor. 🤷🏼‍♀️ 😂

Everyone in Cronenberg's movies is always creepy and kind of detached, and they're usually gross body horror, so your reactions are pretty much how you're supposed to feel about it.
