This is my favorite John Carpenter movie hands down. It's a homage to old Wu Xia martial arts movie so a lot of the pacing and dialog are based on those. Fun Facts: 1) Lightning and Lo Pan are the inspiration for Raiden and Shang Tsung from mortal kombat, so you were basically right about that. 2) Jack thinks he's the main hero but doesn't know he's actually the side-kick while Wang acts like the side-kick but is actually the main hero. 3) I used to stay up or wake up in the middle of the night to watch this when I was a kid (it didn't do well in theatres so was generally only on at 2-3AM) 4) The Golden Child isn't a John Carpenter film (not really important, just thought I'd point it out) and even though you've already seen it I would love to see y'all watch it again as a reaction. The modern day fantasy/comedy is a fantastic genre. 'Say I-I-I-I-I-I-I want the knife.'

2) That is so true, its funny how that works out. 3) its a shame, another FOX strikes again moment. 4) Ahh Google lied to us lol, we have not seen the golden child but it is on our ever growing list.
