My brother and I went to see this in the cinema in the teenagers and we were both literally shaking at the end. 🤣 The best most atmospheric "you are there" experience I've ever had in a cinema. It was sold as a connection to the tv series Lost (smoke monster), but that was a total well done misdirection. When I think of original ideas that could set modern cinems on fire again, I often think back to this experience. It was really experimental and organic and the height of cool. Kind of like experiencing the original Star Wars in 1977, in how it combined so many innovations on old concepts to make something truly new. The scene where they're crossing between the buildings with the jets flying overhead was peak directing for example, the death behind the curtain. I was obsessed with Mini DV camcorders a few because of my first summer job and a school tour a few months prior, so this was cocaine cinema for me.😂 "I can do that"

Shyam - i remember seeing the posters in the cinema but at the time i wasn't to keen on horror movies especially when i saw people coming out of the show all shaken up 🤣. I think with cinema now a days there is no originality everything is a remake or a poor adaptation of a book. This along with a few others where so unique in terms of cinematography and how it was filmed which set it apart. Mini Dv cams where brilliant especially pre phone era, when we went on holiday you would see so many people walking around with camcorders 🤣
