Giuseppe the Defiler
All Mortali knights desecrate corpses to some extent; the Gehenna Crusaders are especially known for plucking out the eyes of their victims, but even among prodigious monsters, Giuseppe stands out. A champion of the Crusaders of Gehenna, he has earned a reputation for his unsavory acts. He is known for taking his time opening up corpses and still-living bodies in search of moonlit eyes, as he assures his brothers that the many eyes are not just found within the cranium, but can manifest in all regions of the body. As a testament to his diligence, he has adorned his helmet with the moonlit eyes he has managed to find. Giuseppe, in spite of his eccentricities, is a capable commander and warrior.
Lord Falconi entrusted him with a cohort in preparation for the assault on Arteria 77; it would be known as the Cannibal Cohort and charged with fighting on the western front. As Operation Grunwald pushed forward, the Cannibal Cohort would fall back to the settlement of Kotkino, where it would blunt the Caspian advance.
Decadence
Giuseppe reached into the remains of the Zmeya Brigador, his gauntlet pushed effortlessly through the flesh of the abdomen. With one hand in, he plunged the second, expanding the cavity and allowing the dim light of his lantern to illuminate the insides. From within his helmet's void he grinned; the meticulous work could finally begin in earnest. He removed organ after organ, examining them closely for any trace of an ocular growth. He easily lost himself in this routine; there was a simple pleasure in it. It was a ritual for him that kept his wandering mind focused on the mysterious riddle of Him on the Moon and kept away troublesome thoughts of times before. It wasn't something often discussed among the older brothers of the order, those who lived during the gilded days. It was blasphemy, but he knew that he wasn't alone in these heretical daydreams of a different age. Nothing, again and again, not even within the cranium—this one was not touched by the Moon. Giuseppe threw the corpse from his table and lifted another body for examination.
