Prologue to Penumbra Wars, the build up part 2 (Patreon)

The second part to the Penumbra Wars Prologue set, more Penumbra to come in the future for sure!

A world on fire

The world has not known a year truly devoid of conflict, from the battles in the lands of the Yangtze Kingdom against the tendrils of the Fleshscape, to the battlefields of Europa in which the Frankish Empire spills blood against the League of opposition. From the crises in the once all powerful Ophidian Empire, which is on the verge of collapse from civil war. The world is as ever, in constant war.

Evergreen Housecarl Division

The distinguished and highly reputable Security force for the Evergreen Family, the Housecarls are by all accounts knights in shining armor. It is a great honor for anyone in the 2nd Ring to join the division and it is usually one of the only ways to achieve social mobility upwards. Yet the path is not that simple, as one must distinguish themselves and be recommended by an Evergreen Knight to ascend from the ranks of the man-at-arms. The Housecarls have fought alongside the Ministry for generations, being distinguished allies to the Ministry, even receiving training from Ministry assets.

The Evergreen Company

The noble house of the Evergreens was established sometime around the 1300's following the aftermath of a brutal corporate war, in which their efforts and loyalty to the Ministry earned them the right to govern over the 2nd Ring. Notably they are the only Corporation lacking any facilities or properties within the Gulch. They are often considered lapdogs for the Ministry, something that the Evergreen Company doesn't even bother disputing.

Sir Barlow Evergreen: A member of the Evergreen bloodline, cousin to the current CEO of the corporation. Barlow has led the Housecarls for nearly his whole life, taking up the position of leadership at a young age following the untimely death of his father. He conducts himself as a true chivalrous knight, he has visited the old world many times undoubtedly he has taken up many customs from Europa. He is always seeking to strengthen his knights and is eager to assist the Ministry in any operations.

Evergreen Knight: The prestigious and noble Knights of the Evergreen Company, their armor is top of the line and based off of Europan armors of the middle ages. They are highly trained operators, comparable to that of the Varangians of the Atlantropean Government.

Evergreen Custodian: Heavily armored and equipped with a tower shield, the Custodian are a mobile hard point on the battlefield. When it comes to the narrow corridors of corporate combat, the Custodian out classes most other heavy units.

Evergreen Man-at-arms: The bulk of the Evergreen Company security forces, a full volunteer force from the 2nd Ring. They are often dispatched to assist the Ministry within the Underworks and Gulch, bringing stability to unstable places. For the most part they are kept in reserve within the 2nd Ring, keeping the security of the place.

Palatinae Anti-Infantry Cord: The Palatinae is an in-house design of the Evergreen Company in collaboration with Sanada Heavy Industries. It is styled after Europan armor, the armor is a top layer over the less elegant interior core. It is equipped with a HEAT Lance, dual machine gun, and a pair of back mounted missile launchers.

Bahamut

Far from the Floating City, deep within the brutal heart of the Afrikan continent an Abyssian man watched the stars and the Moon above him. His senses sharpened to the immaterial and unknowable reality beyond ours, he sees the Moon speak. It is inviting him to a far off city, it is calling for him to bring about the will of Agape Pazuzu, He Within the Moon.

Bahamut an Abyssian albino, he has lived a brutal and bleak life, for his condition is considered a great blessing by his tribesmen, for whoever consumes the flesh of an albino will gain great power and favor from the great spirits. He was hunted and escaped death many times, but with time he grew powerful and terrible. Killing scores of men with ease, slaying aberrations, and mastering abnormalities. His power is great, his destiny is that of a mighty warrior, one that will bring about total war.
