Saturday Update! (Patreon)

Good morning folks! It's unseasonably warm and pitch dark here, and I am enjoying a slow and sleepy morning~

Last week was moderately productive! I didn't get so many placeholders done, but that's because I needed Monday and Tuesday to do a bunch of coding. Night 2's searching segment was originally coded as a regular choice menu, but when I was doing Night 1's placeholders, I decided to translate that to the same kind of move-and-click system that YKMET:Strade had at night- so I had to translate this night over in the same way. [ I originally figured there wasn't enough content to use the Strade search system but later changed my mind because it's more fun to point and click on things ]

I only needed to slightly rewrite and cut a little bit to make it work [ don't worry, nothing interesting was cut, just some lines describing the act of searching around alone which are now redundant because you are physically doing that LMAO ]

So both nights use the point and click system now [ Law's game will only have 2 night sequences ]

For the remaining 3 days of the week I sketched placeholders like usual. Had to draw a lot of unique new pics since we're in a new night segment and Lawrence is shirtless again

In other game-related news, I found and bought a really exciting sample pack for the music later! It's a sound kit created by abusing and destroying a cello [ thank you for your sacrifice cello 🙏 ]

In the upper right there's a little window where you can press play on some sample songs they made with the samples. Just to be clear- I didn't buy those songs, I bought the sounds the songs are made with so I can use them to make my own music when the time comes :D That won't be for a long time since I finish the art before making the music, but it feels great to have some supplies that fit the ideas in my head for how I want the music to eventually sound.

Now I just need to find a good sample pack from an octobass and I'll be ready 😁

In personal news, I'm feeling fairly optimistic about my health now. My diastolic blood pressure seems to be dropping slowly, and my systolic is now well into the healthy zone [ sometimes even as low as 100 ] and I continue to tolerate the new medication well. I've got an appointment to check in with my doc on Monday and I'm assuming at this point that we're gonna agree to continue the same blood pressure medication.

I've been having a bit more energy as well. I think maybe my iron supplements are starting to make a difference.

Switching to cooking from frozen/premade food has been relatively painless, thankfully. I've even dropped a couple pounds, which is a positive thing for my personal health situation, so I'm pleased.

Next week I'll be making chicken corn chowder to enjoy as it gets colder 😌 I'll add a bunch of lentils to it. I've been getting really into lentils LMAO

I'm also very happy to say that I think Willow's had a health breakthrough too. As some of you long term patrons might know, I've been struggling with her frequent vomiting since I adopted her. Several vet visits, prescription food, the whole thing.

Well, a while ago she had a very bad barfing fit after eating her prescription wet food for dinner, and I made the snap decision to stop giving her wet food entirely.

It has now been 12 days since then, and she hasn't barfed once. Which is a new record, I believe [ her old record was 11 days ]. She's energetic and playful, she's pooping well, and her food is staying down. I'm extremely happy.

And before anyone starts yelling Jackson Galaxy quotes at me in the comment section- I have tried many different wet foods and vet advice for over a year and this is the first thing that has finally worked. If exclusively dry [ prescription stomach sensitivity ] food is what actually works for her, then it's what I'm gonna do. I know she drinks plenty of water so I'm not going to keep forcing things that weren't working.

I'm just so happy she's comfortable and I won't have to drag out the wet vac constantly any more 🎉
